I just got my Mudita Kompakt a few days ago. I am able to exchange SMS messages with one contact. I am also able to receive group MMS messages involving 2 contacts; I can then reply to those messages and have a conversation. However, I see no way to start a group message with more than 1 contact. I open the SMS app, click the “+” sign at the top of the screen, search for the first contact. But after that I see no way to add other contacts to the chat. Is there really no way to start a group MMS thread?

- Enable Group MMS: In the SMS app settings, select your SIM card and ensure “Single MMS Group Chat” is turned on. [1, 2]
- Turn Off RCS/iMessage: If your contacts use iPhones or other Androids, their phones may default to Apple’s iMessage or modern RCS, which the Kompakt does not support. Ask them to temporarily disable RCS or deregister you from iMessage so their phones default to MMS. [1, 2, 4]
- Start Fresh: Because group thread logs can get “burned” with previous RCS settings, older group chats you were in might not work. Have your friends completely delete their old threads with you and start a brand new group message.
- Check APN Settings: If you still cannot receive group messages or image attachments, carrier APN settings might be interfering. Check the Mudita Support for correct configuration details. [1]

Thanks for the reply @smuch . I think I had all the settings right, just had to update my OS. Starting with OS K 1.4.0, I see the option to “Create Group” when I start a new message. I’m now running the latest 1.5.0.
