Customer support thread (all questions welcome)

So my Mudita doesn’t show time there neither. I think it would be good to have time visible in the app view too.

@tes Thanks for the feedback- Can you give us more info about what’s happening with the SMS?
Regarding the battery- have you sideloaded any apps?

@denguefeber You clicked on a link in the SMS app & it opened a browser? Cuz that’s not supposed to happen. Do you have a Browser installed?

Sorry, it must have been a link in a Singal message! @urszula

Hey Urszula, thanks for your response. I have not sideloaded any apps and found battery life good now I have switched off bloothooth and hotspot.
About SMS I think it migh have something tot do with connectivity. A work I cannot send and recieve SMS, a home sometimes, in my garden, always. Some SMS messages are send to my old phone. I might try switch provider.

@denguefeber That makes sense. Check out my post about WebView & how it behaves with different apps. It might be helpful to think about is as SIGNAL is triggering the WebView.

@tes are you in the EU?

Yes (and calls always work perfectly, where ever I am)

@gezimos As someone who still have a 12 year-old BlackBerry Q10, a battery-pull fixed most issues with the phone. That’s one thing I miss on the Kompakt.

Thank you @urszula!
But what about cookies and cache? I asked DuckduckAI:

"It is important to note that how and where this data [cookies and cache] is stored can vary depending on the platform (e.g., Android or iOS) and how the webview component is configured by the developer.”

@denguefeber And here is where it gets tricky: Signal triggered the WebView to open.
So, when you tap a link in Signal, and Signal chooses to open it inside its own WebView (instead of handing it off to a full browser-like if you had BRAVE installed or something else), here’s what happens:

1. WebView is Hosted by Signal

  • Signal creates an in-app WebView.
  • It controls what features are available: cookies, cache, JavaScript, etc.

2. Cookies and Cache Storage

  • Cookies, cache, and local storage created during that session are stored within Signal’s app sandbox.
  • They are not shared across apps (For example, if the WebView is triggered by Airport WiFi or another app won’t have access).
  • Think of it like a mini-private browser just for that app, with its own isolated data bucket.

Hopefully this helps.

I think it’s reproducible: when opening an SMS thread and pressing the text input to start typing, the keyboard hovers over the existing content without moving it up - thus, you see second or third-to-last message, not the latest one you’re replying to.
IMO it’d be good to have that scroll with showing keyboard.

Coincidental timing - I just wrote a thread directly about this topic, around the same time you made this post. Maybe we can continue discussion there.

@RobertoLi Is this what you’re referring to? I think it might be because the clock is not considered a traditional app in same sense that a camera & meditation timers are. However, I will ask the team & get back to you.

No. You see there on that particular screen there’s the current time on top. Now if you go back to the home screen and tap on “Apps”, the current time is gone.

@RobertoLi I get it now  I will ask the team about this…

Today the alarm went off 5 minutes again. Do you have any answers from the team? Is it something that they are aware of and that will be fixed?

Hi ! i have my Mudita since 2 weeks ; I have a lot of things to say, but for the moment I’d juste like to know wether there will be a possibility to send sms and make calls through Mudita Center (if I remember well, it was something initially planned?) ?
Thanks for your answer

@bashfultractor Thanks for reaching out. This is something that wasn’t planned at launch & it’s something not is not really on the table at the moment. But we never want to say NEVER  Right now, our team is focused on delivering all the Kompakt devices to our community. Then after we receive feedback from our backer & pre-orders, we will make decisions as to how to move forward.

My alarm also started not to ring sometimes. After a reboot it worked fine again though. Maybe, it has something to do with the device uptime and somehow generates an offset from it.

I do love the Autumnal Sea alarm sound :fallen_leaf:
