Below is a discussion of the issue with offline+ mode and sound:
@marko Just to be sure I wasnât going crazy or had amnesia
I checked with the the team & I also went to Wayback Machine to DOUBLE check what was posted on the roadmap in January 2026, Feb 2026 & even April 2026 (after we postponed the update) regarding the the music player.
I was able to check that improvements to the music player were not communicated as planned for 1.5.0 & they were not included Q2 improvements, but rather for an unspecified point in 2026.
The roadmap now, specifies it more clearly, that itâs still on the radar for 2026, with more precise fixes to be added.
We really appreciate the support @marko and that youâre part of the community, providing valuable feedback.
I know our team is doing the best that they can & we know that there is still room for improvement.
Half of the items on this list have already been implemented by only 2 developers on this forum and their apps (Katapult/InkOS and Kompakt X). Itâs really embarassing when a company has to emulate what other devs did in their sparetime, plus itâs really no longer necessary to copy their work. Mudita should focus on longstanding issues instead, because ignoring those drives people crazy and makes them give up on Mudita. The company is WAY too slow, and once they realize what is urgently needed, itâs too late or has already been solved. The roadmap is Muditaâs biggest obstacle in making real progress, because it is mostly carved in stone, while more urgent improvements have to wait for years, if they are even considered at all. Anything that is being planned for the next few updates is mostly things that should have worked from the start. So if someone says they feel like an unpaid beta-tester, itâs legitimate. It seems Mudita is practicing what some users on this forum already know and implement easily. Mudita lets people find all the bugs, while marketing the phone as âmindfulâ. There is nothing mindful about the stress and frustration that most users here have gone through.
@YYZ Youâre absolutely entitled to feel frustrated about the pace of certain improvements. We know there are areas users want addressed more quickly, and weâve never claimed the product is perfect.
A lot of the things being discussed on the FORUM are being worked on precisely because user feedback matters. Some changes take longer than people would like, but thatâs often the tradeoff between moving fast and making sure updates are stable, reliable, and sustainable long-term.
What does âlong-termâ mean when the life span is only 5 years and/or the battery could die sooner and canât be replaced by the user ![]()
It wonât help much when by the time all the issues are fixed the Kompakt has reached EOL.
The battery lifespan is quite long. I remember our engineer quoting a lifespan of 10-15years. AND Kompakt does indeed has a replicable battery, but itâs best to do it in our Service Center. Thatâs only because there are restrictions on shipping lithium batteries, which we discussed on this forum before. Lithium batteries are classed as dangerous goods, thatâs why their transportation needs to be well monitored to ensure safety and minimize potential risks during transportation.
It would be difficult for user to get their hands just a battery to replace themselves because we wouldnât be able to ship just a battery without a device.
I ran into this problem 2 years ago when I wanted to replace a battery in my BBQ10. I had to buy a broken BBQ10 just to get a battery. Fortunately, the phone was over 10yrs old, so it was very cheap.
The regulations regarding the power and quantity of cells and batteries you can ship changes regularly. And it even changes from country to country. Not just EU & outside the EU. There are countries which do not allow the shipment of batteries AT ALL, without devices. PLUS there are also restrictions on lithium content in a battery. This is all because they can store up to four times more energy per unit of mass than other batteries and they carry a much greater fire risk.
Informative reply, @urszula. After seeing videos of e-bikes (with dodgy batteries) spontaneously burst into flames, I can appreciate these restrictions on shipping, even if they might seem Byzantine at first.
Thatâs good indeed, however, the Kompakt itself is not supported that long, and warranty is also much shorter. And if the screen or anything else breaks, itâs over.
And if a V2 comes out, possibly without all the birth pains, most users will most likely switch to that one. Except people like me, who canât afford it.
You can buy a screen from us to replace it yourself after the warranty has run out. We sell them.
Instructions are free to download too. People already did it. There are post on Reddit & I think there were posts here on the forum as well.

We provide official spare parts and detailed repair guides to make the Kompakt user-serviceable. You can access our step-by-step PDF instructions and the official Spare Parts Catalogue directly through our Support Page.
Hello,
New here so I hope Iâm doing this right. For months Iâve been having an issue with my Kompakt when scrolling through an sms conversation thread, if I try to go very far back in the conversation it snaps me back to the bottom (the most recent messages). It make it very difficult to read old messages if necessary. I thought this update would fix it but it hasnât.
Does anybody else have this issue? Known fixes? Thanks.
Respectâan affordable replacement battery as well as the back cover.
Mudita did not mentionâeither before or at the time of release or launchâthat the pre-installed apps were not yet working properly, or that features found in all these apps on other Android devices were missing or not yet available.
So people bought the Mudita Kompakt believing that everything that came pre-installed would work properly.
Itâs completely normal to have a few minor bugs to fix here and there after a product launch, since a wider range of users is testing the device. But the fact that some apps still donât have all the features they should after a year, and that it took a year to get a keyboard that actually works properly (and itâs really great nowâI love it!), that really shouldnât happen, and such âflawsâ need to be disclosed before the purchase. Or you could say, âWeâre a young company; the product isnât perfect yet, and if you buy it, weâll need your help and patience to get it working properly.â But that didnât happen. And thatâs where the communication breakdown lies.
If any other manufacturer had sold a device like this, I would have sent it back immediately and wouldnât have bought another one from them anytime soon. Youâre lucky to have such great, understanding, and loyal customers. Still, youâll have to put up with this criticism now, because after a year, many people (myself included) are starting to lose patience.
Especially when, as I said, you see what people in the community are creating in their free time.
So, I have zero sound difference between Offline+ and online. My sound is pretty clear and loud. I mean, as loud as the specs allowed - plenty loud with headphones on. For the plugged in headphones while using the 3.5mm jack, the buttons (volume up/down, stop/start) on the mudita purchase headphones do not work while in Offline+ but do work once it is back online. My Etymotics do not have control buttons. My Sennheiser controls work while connected via the jack or on Bluetooth. In all situations, sound is not an issue. I agree, I am an N of 1 but for the most part, my Kompakt just works.
Again, some caveats - the Mudita center drives me crazy and I wish albums were in track order but I can wait, not life changing.
Second @karl Respect! So few companies respect the right to repair in any shape/form. I would still likely send in my Kompakt (as my spare is on its way, just shipped ) but nice to know someone who wanted to provide these services could, in theory, do so.
love the keyboard update and combined with improved latency on the screen, the typing experience is great. No complaints here and have stopped using the sideloaded FUTO keyboard.
Of the stock apps there are two things Mudita needs to fix so someone can use this out of the box imo: the maps app (more or less unusable in my experience) and the music app (sort by album order). Throw in Voicemail notifications and the ability to delete sideloaded apps from the phone/mudita center (accessing developer functions should not be a requirement when sideloading is an advertised function of the phone) and in my opinion most other issues are minor (though I donât use the calendar or e-reader extensively so the existing limitations donât impact my experience too much). This phone is very close to being marketable to anyone who is willing to accept the stock offerings. For those who are willing to work a little more to get what they need because they value not having a smartphone, its already great.
I have a peeble to! Mine fell a few days ago from 3 meters on concrete that was not really hard. It has some dark patterns on the back, but I bought a phone case for it.
After updating to 1.5.0 Iâm finding that some weather apps no longer function. I like the simplicity of Bura, but it began creashing on launch. Then I downloaded GeoWeather, which didnât work at all. I downloaded Breezy Weather which does work, but I find convoluted. Is anybody have similar issues? Thanks.
About the weather app, I have an issue. When I want to see the mudita weather widget on 1.5.0, it says no weather data, and on 1.4.0, it told me the temperature. Now I need to open the weather app when I want to know the weather. When I open it, it shows me no loading data. ![]()
Exactly, @Thenormalfangorillaz . If they do show an error, weather apps say that no weather data is available. I tried enabling assisted GPS, but it makes no difference. Thereâs nothing specified in the 1.5.0 release notes. Annoying that one day apps work, then after updating the OS, they donât.
Yeah, kind of annoying. The good part of this is that you can access the weather app by tapping the widget
