InkOs is a really great launcher. Thanks for your work.!
I haven’t figured out how to activate notifications for missed calls yet. Signal and Sms work fine. Do you have any advice? Thanks
Thanks for trying the launcher.
So there is an issue with phone app notifications, they appear empty. Mudita might be using some different “standard” to push phone notifications and the notification “recorder” is not able to detect them properly.
Because inkOS is literally only pushing notifications that already exist but are not visible to us because the lack of the notification tray.
On the next update I’m going to try to solve this by adding some custom code for the mudita phone app. I might wait until Mudita pushes their July update to see if that will fix it though.
I’ve confirmed the issue is at the Mudita phone app because I’ve tested in other phones and the missed call notifications work properly.
Thanks for the answer, i can see missed calls on the screen before swiping up to open the device.
Yes Mudita only shows Calls and SMS notifications by default. It’s surprising that my notification implementation can see and read the SMS ones but it can’t for the call ones. I’ll try to fix this because it’s helpful to have them as reminders for missed calls.
Hello,
Love the launcher. One question - how do you move apps from the app drawer onto the Home Screen? It seems like once all the main app spots are taken I can’t replace them with other apps from the drawer. I am not referring to changing the order of the main apps. Appreciate any insights and sorry of I missed this in previous posts. Thanks!
Glad you like the launcher ![]()
To change an existing app you just longpress the name of the existing app and replace it with something else.
If that doesn’t work, it means you have locked the apps in Advanced → Lock apps (then disable it to allow app changing)
Yep, nailed it. I had the apps locked in the advanced settings. Thanks!
I am loving the InkOS launcher, but I need help. Please can someone explain to me exactly what I need to do in order for it to be the default launcher.
Read these guide on sideloading if you haven’t done it yet:
Or you can do it through normal ADB if you have experience doing it.
During installation (or in settings) of inkOS it will ask you to choose it as a default Launcher, do it. However the Mudita Launcher will still appear when you press the home button so you need to disable it.
if you’re doing it through web adb:
pm disable-user --user 0 com.mudita.launcher
if you’re doing it through normal adb:
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.mudita.launcher
You can also disable it using Universal Android Debloater.
To renable the mudita launcher in case you want to go back to it:
pm enable com.mudita.launcher (for web adb)
adb shell pm enable com.mudita.launcher (normal adb)
Warning DO NOT UNINSTALL MUDITA LAUNCHER ONLY DISABLE IT
Awesome thankyou @gezimos
Been using this launcher for the past week. It’s everything i have wanted from a launcher. Thanks!
One question for Gezimos. Is it possible to ignore-disable update notifications in signal app?
@meowimacathaha Glad you’re liking the launcher
Yes of course. In Settings/Notifications you have:
Home notification allow list (for the label notifications under app name).
Notification Allowlist for the notification window.
You can set only the apps from which you want to receive notifications.
If you don’t set any in there, by default it shows all notification that the phone can see.
Thank You for the answer
From Activity Launcher / Activity Manager, go to com.android.settings.Settings$NotificationAppListActivity, find Signal and there you can toggle the updates notifications off
Ok, Activity manager is an app? or is it possible reach this settings through webadb?
@janlo Yes activity launcher is an app that creates shortcuts to system dialog windows that exist but Mudita has hidden.
Some of these windows can be found in developer options using the search option but it’s probably easier to find them using Activity Launcher.
@gezimos, @miiiiiiiiiiiii
I just installed activity manager and thanks to you it solved the constant notifications from the Signal
I am currently using this launcher on my Kompakt, and I also wanted to mention that it’s being used and LOVED on my Hisense Touch! The factory launcher is bleh and the InkOS launcher keeps only what I need on the menu and… I could be wrong, but I swear the Touch is actually more responsive lol
As for the Kompakt, I’ve noticed notifications coming up more, which is also welcome. Keep up the amazing work!
