Thank you so much for your work !
I tried yesterday and omg this is truly amazing ! I now have my notifications in case I receive a message on Signal ! I’m able to lock access to Signal or other apps with the fingerprints !
And it feels so nice to be able to customize it with the fonts and everything, I managed to have only 1 page of apps.
Though one thing regarding the gestures, I wanted to add access to an app when swiping right instead of the notification, but when I click “Open an app” it chooses the Camera and I cannot change it, do you know why ?
Thanks !
I love the font! Can you please tell me what it’s called?
For sure !

Thank you!
This is awesome! Nice job! Especially for your first app!
Dude, I just tried it out. You freaking killed it. One question, how do chat notifications present themeselves? Are they different from Home notifications and the notification window or is it simply how they present themselves within those windows? Thanks!
Also, I LOVE the notification window!
What! Awesome!
Also, how did you remove the top bar for time and batter life?
@gezimos can correct me, but I believe the original projects had already removed the top bar
Aha makes sense. @gezimos and @solv I would appreciate any guidance on how you two did this. Would love to stop thinking about the time whenever I use my phone!
You shouldn’t enable the status bar.
Settings → Look&Feel → Show status bar (disable it). and it will remove the the topbar.
For the notifications, the home notifications show the notification under the app name label. That is character limited in settings / notifications.
The Notification window shows the full notification message.
The chat notifications act the same as other notifications. Tried to keep it simple
You can watch my youtube video to see demo:
You have timestamps in the description.
@es1996 You’re correct the hiding status bar feature was part of the original code.
Thank you! This app is amazing! I’ll give it a star on github!
Looking very creative with the custom font
Too bad the * is not part of the font, it’s showing the system one I think.
By default the gestures supported camera, phone, screenshot, alarm, calendar. Some of these were removed to simplify it. I even considered removing the phone, because I want to make the applist for apps and gestures to be for other features. And having to open apps with gestures will cause conflicts for navigation.
Plus I have optimized this app to work with keypad phones and I don’t want to over-complicate it with features. It sounds weird, but it’s very difficult to keep the app simple
Glad that you kept the swipe for phone!!!
That sounds inspiring! I thought about making some app I’m missing that would be optimised for e-ink, but was putting that aside. Now I might actually try it))
Also kudos for the design side of the app – I love how clean it feels!
What is the font you use? it looks very nice
Hey, if you actually start building your app, please reach out. I would love to collaborate in the learning experience. I want to try to build an e-ink app or two but don’t know where to start. Feel free to DM me and we can get in touch.
I’m using inkOS since its first release it is still great! One little thing, though: It would be great to have the option that, once you press the home button, the launcher returns to page 1 of the app list.
Also, +1 for a way to adjust the top padding of the app list widget.
Again, thanks for you great work @gezimos
you use tuta? how were you able to login?
I wish it would work but I’m not able to login as well…
I have a ticket open with the Tuta support but I don’t feel it will work unless they manage to release a version that fixes the issue… I keep the app just in case it ever gets fixed.
I’m glad you’re finding it useful
I originally had it that pressing the home button would reset the page order in home to 1st one, but during my testing that turned out very confusing because I was getting lost at which page I was before the reset. I’ll see to add an option that allows reseting to 1st page.
Yes I will be adding a top padding option for the clock and a bottom padding for battery widget.
for me, it’s mostly when I press Home while using another app. Then I want to see my first page which has all my most important shortcuts.
Thanks for considering to add this!
