How big is 1.5.0?

SO happy to see that a keyboard update is on the list of 1.5 updates… would prefer not to have to sideload one, but the current stock keyboard is unusable.

Thank you to the mudita team for working on this, and to all the devs making apps that greatly elevate the phone’s usability.

Does the timer need to stay on the screen when using? It looks great and I was giving it a shot but let the mudita fall asleep while I had a timer running and I noticed past the time it hadn’t rung, I went back to the app and it had only registered a few minutes of time when it was about 15 minutes later.

@pablose Thanks for the feedback. v1.0 should have the feature to block the screen from locking while in use. But I will check out the other situation.
I created it because I had a need to time my elaborate beauty routine. So, it works for what I need it to do.
However, I will work on improving it so that others can use it in their various use cases.

Thanks for the response! I’ll keep that in mind when using the timer to block the screen from locking. The app looks great! One other question is I seemed to be able to scroll just a bit in the app, I think on the countdown section which moved things around a bit, that might be a refinement worth pursuing to avoid all scrolling.

Copy-pasting my response from another thread, for everyone following here!

Thanks for your patience, and for keeping the guessing-game friendly.

You’re right that 1.5.0 has started reaching some of you. We’re rolling it out in stages, as we’ve done with previous updates: a smaller group first, so we can catch anything unexpected before it reaches the tens of thousands of Kompakts out there. If you don’t have it yet, there’s nothing wrong with your phone - your turn is coming.

Can’t give the exact date for the full rollout right now, but expect an official announcement on Monday afternoon. The release notes were meant to be up already - there’s a slight delay, but they should be live in about 12h, tomorrow, before noon (GMT+1).

Appreciate everyone bearing with us. More on Monday!

We are really hoping this update is a good one. Novemeber was a long wait so we all expect this to have some significant upgrades to the device. You guys are a year in now since release so this needs to be good one

@Minimalmann79: You may be disappointed, as I do not see recurring events beneath “Calendar” here:

https://support.mudita.com/en/support/solutions/articles/77000596102-muditaos-k-1-5-0-en-

I will keep waiting to buy another Kompakt, as my dream for voicemail enhancements must continue to wait for another release.

Meanwhile, these two bulleted items here about the new A-GPS seem promising for those of us who care about privacy!

  • A-GPS data is processed locally on the device’s system level
  • Mudita does not collect, store, or use location data for analytics or profiling

Okay, many of those changes look meaningful. However I am still pretty disappointed that the SD Card issue is not fixed. This should be a basic function. The way it is, the SD card slot ist basically unusable and the phone should not be advertised as having the ability to enhance memory through an SD card

I’m using 256 GB SD card in the micro SD slot. I don’t find any problem with it.

May be only your device has this problem. Ask for replace if within warranty.

My SD is is 512GB and zero issues. Over 100 GB of music and maps.

Can you remind me what issue your’re experiencing with your SD CARD? I just want to make sure we’re on the same page. Just FYI- using an SD card as ADAPTABLE storage is not supported with Mudita Kompakt. It can only function as additional storage in the same way an zip/pendrive would function.
Trying to use it as ADAPTABLE storage can causes massive issues with the phone, starting with loss of data and card corruption.

I was really, really hoping this update would bring the ability to silence vibrations for SMS and the alarm. For a company so focused on relaxation, calm and mindfulness, the absence of a toggle off for vibration really boggles the mind. The Kompakt is the only phone I can think off where this feature is absent, and I dont understand how it wasn’t implemented on release. It genuinely makes the alarm an unpleasant experience to wake up to, especially since the vibration is really strong. The music player is another area I would have liked to see addressed; the inability to sort songs by track order is baffling, and I cant imagine how easy it must be to fix. I really like the phone and try to use it as my only device, but frankly embarrassing quality of life issues like these make me reconsider other options every single day.

sorry, to clarify “adaptable”, do you mean integrating the SD card so it’s recognized as internal storage (probably not correct terminology on my part).

A workaround to stop vibrations: With the launcher Katapult you have access to the notification settings and can change the vibration (longpress on the icon - notifications). Another method was described here:

I’m facing this issue: microSD card reading error, shows 0 bytes

I have tried this on Katapult and it does not work, you can toggle the vibration off but it still vibrates

That is strange, I just tested it on my MK, and it worked.
