Which text-based Launcher are you using with your Kompakt?

I disabled the mudita launcher using this command.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.mudita.launcher

The home button takes me to yam launcher now.

Thanks, this worked with OLauncher as well. For anyone else trying OLauncher, be sure to long press the bottom to go into settings and switch it from Dark Mode to Light Mode for it it to be visible. Looks so elegant!

I also use niagara. I set the alphabet part to be hidden and I don’t use it. Instead, I press circle (the button on the mudita itself) and start typing the name of whatever app I want to use. From the home screen, if you touch the far right side of the screen, the alphabet thing will appear and do its wobbly scrolly thing, but I don’t find it difficult to avoid that area.

I use the Before Launcher App. It seems to be very similar to these more open source ones but I do really like it.

I chose this over OLauncher solely because of the file size. It works fine, but sometimes the text shrinks for a moment after going to the home screen. Have you noticed this? Have you found a solution?

You have to first disable the stock launcher.

with the notification workaround I posted, it allows you to wipe notifications away by reintroducing a notification bar/shade.

no problemo!

Thanks for posting the apk! What workaround to clear out notifications do you mean?

I just want to chime in and recommend Minimo Launcher that kohjakob showed me in a different thread. It’s really basic, minimalistic, slim and small. No fuss, just plain text.

Since I haven’t seen anyone mention it: Neat Launcher has notification badges, that work reliably and disappear, once you opened the app. Main annoyance with the launcher is that you have to set “minimum width” in developer settings to at least 380 in order to pin apps, as the “ok” button doesn’t show up otherwise.

Thanks! Neat Launcher works great for me. Exactly what I wanted.

hi han or anyone else, were do I enter this command to be able to shut down the mudita launcher and get another to be the prime
? I entered it in terminal but it gave: zsh: command not found: disable-user

Unfortunately when I tried Neat Launcher the notifications did not disappear when I opened the app. That was really annoying and made it unusable for me.

Thanks @bone_naga. You saved me some time/effort. I was contemplating if I wanted to remove Niagara and try Neat Launcher. Having already spent a considerable amount of time to configure the device to my liking, really didn’t want to install a launcher only to return to Niagara for decent notifications management.

pm disable-user --user 0 com.mudita.launcher
try this command

thanks. Unfortunately it doesn’t work. I copy pasted it directly when I opened terminal. Is that the right thing to do?

there was already a thread here on the forum, according to which I successfully changed the launcher.
I did it via ADB shell:

It works only via opera, chrome, chromium browser.
You connect your phone to your computer, add your Kompakt and enter the command here - interactive shell:

Here is a link to a thread about sideloading and working with ADB. Check it out and give it a try. I’ve mastered it and I’m a complete IT layman.
