@nary Thanks for this idea it’s great & we did discuss something like this, however, here the thing, only a small fraction of Mudita Kompakt users are on this FORUM. Sometimes it feels like everyone is here, but that’s not the case. As much as we would LOVE all of them to be here & contribute, that’s just not the case, so it would only be a reflection of a small subset of users who would be voting.
Since you just ordered your Mudita Kompakt, you may not know this (since you’re fairly new here) when we initially shipped out the devices to out Backers & pre-orders, we sent out a survey to the users (and there were thousands) and asked for their feedback. That survey gave use a good overall picture of what our users are looking for.
“That survey gave use a good overall picture of what our users are looking for.”
I’m curious, how many asked for volume buttons, a microphone, a sim tray, swipe gestures? I’ll assume the figure was low. I also assume that hardly anyone requested a timer, but I would hazard a guess that the majority of users expect one. I would call these fundamentals in a phone today, however minimal.
The next category is a little more variable. Very few respondents from the UK and US would have asked for voicemail notifications, but as Mudita has seen, users from such regions expect it to be present.
Mudita’s past efforts to determine a feature list are commendable, but they were not exhaustive. Mudita seems to be treating that earlier exercise as gospel. It seems to me that Mudita is failing to understand this and, in the process, is exasperating its users.
(I know voicemail notifications is coming.)
- Calendar sync
- Video support in camera and texting
- I care most about above 2, but otherwise tap-to-pay would be nice, warmer backlight, and matte screen protector would all be nice
The survey was done a couple of weeks AFTER they received the phone & had a chance to use it for awhile, so if they were missing the timer, I’m sure they would have requested it
But I totally understand that some features are quite useful to have & it can be frustrating when they are not implemented as fast I you would like them to be. And I’d like to assure you that I did let the team know that the timer feature is requested.
@urszula thanks for your reply. I’ve just trawled through my inbox and can’t find any email from Mudita asking for my input. On the other hand, I did find a comment from your colleague Aleksander dated May 2025 passing on the request for a timer.
So, this begs the question: who were these zen masters who float above needing the fundamentals? And on a more serious note, just because Mudita asked one set of users once, does that mean … oh, screw it. I’m clearly wasting my time.
It’s great that Mudita sent out that survey! But it’s foolish to believe that the results of one single survey at one particular point in time outweigh the constantly updated voluntary reporting of users who care enough about the product and community to be an active part of the official online forums.
@nary isn’t demanding that our suggestions and requests be enforced against Mudita’s wishes; rather, I believe he is merely suggesting that Mudita use the features already built into the Discourse forum system that the Mudita forums run on to organize the feedback you are already receiving in a much more beneficial manner.
1. Functional album covers in the music player.
-Now its just blank, which seems a shame with so many cool covers.
2. Holding down the backspace behind some text not deleting the whole message, only what’s behind, not in front.
-If you hold too long you have to start over, so you have to tap backspace repeatedly to be safe, which takes time and is annoying. It makes editing longer notes or texts a pain and erasing the text behind links in SMS slower.
3. Scandinavian keyboard layouts “QWERTY ÆØÅ” and “QWERTY ÅÄÖ”
-While auto-correct and language options for norwegian, danish and swedish would be great, the layout itself is what I want most, and seems easier to implement. Long-pressing to get ÆØÅ constantly is tedious.
Im excited for 2026 updates with custom ringtones/SMS, timer, stopwatch and video support in camera/texting.
My actual most wanted feature is a long-shot, maybe even impossible, but…
-Vipps, its the only app a norwegian can’t go without, but it requires google services to function, so sideloading doesn’t work, I hope a workaround exists, otherwise I have to carry a smartphone with me when going out of the house.
That would be very helpful, but it supposes that one topic = one feature request. I think this would be the best way to use Discourse, but it would need some discipline and moderation. Worth a try!
Hey. Great toppic !
- Analog clock on lockscreen
- Battery front led flashing ( green or red)when having an unread sms or missed call
- Darker font in the e reader.
Cheers and happy christmas , Stephan
Hello Urszula,
Thank you for your question.
My answer is simple:
please make all the necessary improvements, but do not ruin the idea behind it.
Please always remember the limits that cannot be crossed so that the phone does not lose its original nature. Thank you.
-
Be able to delete calls from the call log.
-
When the phone is activated because it was previously offline, be able to see the actual time a message was sent (instead of seeing the time of receipt as the time when offline mode was turned off).
-
Be able to add tasks to the calendar (since alarms are restricted) or be able to add a few more alarms (it is nice and useful to have a limit)
-
Have a timer , maybe also in the “blocking centre”
-
improve the books app to be closer to Kindle style features or when screen is blocked
-
synchronisation of meditation minutes between Mudita Harmony 2 and Mudita Kompact (?)
-
meditation reminders with a sound
-
explain to me what the “folders” at the bottom right of the music app are for. anyway, once you’ve created playlists
-
can you make folders of notes? Actually, no. Perhaps it would make it difficult to manage rather than a place to jot down notes, which you might then prefer to transcribe, for example, as you do now.
-
Screensaver with phrases (does it drain the battery too much?)
-
A breathing function to have breathing exercises at your fingertips, which can also be customised. Examples:
Reset/focus: 4-4-4-4
Gratitude 5-3-7-5
Calm/mild anxiety: 5-0-7-0 Sleep: etc.
- I have some ebooks in ebup format, but when I open the original elibreria app on my phone, random characters appear instead of the title names. However, I noticed that the titles are correct on Mudita Center.
@francescatorre.email Thank you for this feedback. I will pass this on to the team.
Fully agree with this.
I would like to see the following upgrades to the Recorder app:
- the ability to adjust sound quality
- the ability to export recordings
- improved recording quality
Mine isn’t a top 3, but rather an endless list. I don’t know where else to write this, so please forgive me. Here is my other feedback
- The keyboard is a little small, making it somewhat difficult to type quickly and accurately (but I can see it as training myself to type slowly and carefully, and it actually gives me a sense of “nostalgic typing”), but at least fix it so that the suggestions are easy to read
Voice typing could also be useful (for example, I used it with my smartphone in the car), although it would require access to the microphone.
-
Speaker volume during hands-free calls is rather low.
-
When I listen to an audio recording, the screen freezes. I’m not sure how nice/convenient that is.
-
On Apple Watch, before meditation, there was a short but powerful phrase that gave different inspiration each time. So I thought that before the meditation session (I would insert a phrase), for example:
A) like the ones already shown on the Harmony alarm clock or like the ones on the Pure screen saver
B) or inspired by your meditation cards, so it could also be a separate feature, perhaps linked to the reflections on the physical cards?
The same thing could be done together with an update on the Harmony silent alarm clock…
-
being able to insert meditation for just 1, 2, or 3 minutes (as on the Harmony alarm clock)
-
being able to remove the middle of Poland, otherwise by default from the control center I see that and not my Italian one

I live in Poland but I’m originally from Belarus, and I stay in touch with my family in Cyrillic. I use the Kompakt because I deeply connect with its philosophy - I can stay connected without the distracting factors of modern smartphones. It’s also a huge plus for me to support a local Polish company.
There’s massive interest in this type of device among Cyrillic-speaking users, as digital minimalism is becoming a global trend. Many people from post-Soviet countries are looking for phones that help them disconnect from social media addiction while staying reachable for calls and messages.
I’ve asked our team about this. I will return once they give me an answer.
Thank you for checking with the team!
This is exactly what attracted me to Mudita in the first place – the community, openness, and the ability to provide direct feedback. It’s rare to find a company that genuinely listens to its users.
I really appreciate the responsive approach. Looking forward to hearing back!
one thing that really annoys me is that it doesn’t have sepearate volume controls for ring and notification
I know the team is implementing updates to this, but I’ve asked specifically if separate volume controls for ring and notifications will be included in that.
