Top 3 features you'd like to see on the Kompact soon?

Thought it might be interesting / useful to see what everyone is hoping for the most in future updates!

My top 3 are:

  • a quicker / more accurate typing experience
  • a texted based launcher
  • a true matte screen protector (not software based, but I hope someone makes one for it soon)

  1. Cyrillic alphabet layout for the keyboard (and overall a better typing experience)
  2. Some kind of texting native application, that is optimised for e-ink and doesn’t need to be sideloaded (Signal for example).
  3. Ability to customise lock-screen (I would love something pretty like on my Kindles)

I’m curious how many other users are looking for a Cyrillic alphabet keyboard. I’ve passed the feedback to our team & they are looking at options.

I am curious as well! Might not be too much, but I really would love to be able to type in my language. Just to make it clear - I don’t want a whole language support (I am not going to use my Kompakt in bulgarian), I would really love just the keyabord layout

  1. Spam text filtering
  2. Group text / MMS support
  3. Notification support for side loaded apps (but this is much less important than the first 2, and I may be able to solve it with a different launcher when I get around to trying that. The first 2 are such a deal breaker that I swapped my sim card back into my old phone until I have a solution :face_with_diagonal_mouth: )

Despite my complaints, I’m in love with everything else about this phone, and I’m excited/hopeful for it to be my daily driver once these first 2 features come.

Okay, if I can have four: scheduled do-not-disturb

After customizing my phone with the installed apps, I’m quite happy. Now I can only think of one thing that makes me put my phone screen down.
Customizing the lock screen is priority for me.

This is already being worked on. You can already send pictures via SMS, which is, technically, an MMS message. Additionally, the bugs related to group messages are also being worked on.

I will pass on the info to the team about the other features.

I know these are already being implemented in the next update but here is what I would like to see:

  1. Point to point navigation
  2. Daily meditation statistics
  3. Bookmarks on e-reader
  4. Daily habit tracker

My main feature would be a voicemail app or voicemail app support, and/or a text-based launcher with ability to customize gestures. It’s possible to sideload a good launcher but none of the sideloaded apps will show a missed call. Without a voicemail app I am worried about missing important calls, though I can of course manually check. This is my top concern. Spam call filtering also.

I’ve gotten everything else to meet my needs with sideloading, though of course native support for some better features in some of the default apps like maps/music would be nice. I’d like a little better control over the eink and display options, like a refresh button.

  1. Voicemail support
  2. Spam filtering
  3. Better eink/display controls

I have some weirdly specific ones, forgive me:

  • When writing notes in the Notes App, after you reach a certain length the column width of the writing space seems to go from 33 characters down to 27 to make room for the scroll bar. This probably doesn’t matter for 99% of Users, but…I make text-based maps in my phone notes. Like ASCII-style maps made entirely of text. Now, when it shifts from 33 to 27 characters to make room for the scroll bar, the top part of the map gets shifted and I have to either redo it entirely or keep the 27 limit in my head. TL;DR: I’d like a consistent character limit regardless of whether the scroll bar is present on a note or not, or at least when you shift the columns auto-align elegantly.
  • For the E-Reader (which I love and now use more than my Kindle, somehow you have better compatibility with some pdfs than it does, kudos), I’d like an option to be able to receive SMS sound notifications while actively reading. I like that it’s off by default, but I read and reference papers a lot on the go, so I’ve missed important texts sometimes.
  • Pano photos! This is my every day phone now, and the camera is really great I find, so being able to take some wider shots would make me very happy. Not particularly interested in video or time-lapses, just a panoramic option!

I saw you are already working on things like grouping songs by Artist/Album/folder and a bunch of other things. Just wanted to say I’m pleased about that, and in general this is one of the better devices I’ve purchased in some time. Thank you for caring about our feedback!

This is a hard thing! I think my top 3 wishes would be:

  1. Customizable display (lock screen, order of apps, launcher)
  2. Another game such as solitaire or sudoku
  3. Dark mode (either making the display inverted to make things easier on the eyes or a warmer option for backlight)

Close but didn’t quite make my list: voicemail app, easier option to close apps down, and do not disturb.

My top 3 are:

  1. A lock screen which shows the time and notifications (instead of the mudita logo)
  2. Some way to prevent the phone from unlocking/dialling in my pocket
  3. Calendar sync with google

I do, but have sideloaded gboard which has voice to text in Bulgarian, so I don’t really care about the built in keyboard.

My top three:

  1. Official Readwise Reader app (its already widely used and optimized for eg Boox Palma)
  2. Official suppoet for eg the Swedish BankID app (without it I still need a normal iPhone or Android to be able to authenticate myself for my bank, government apps etc here in Sweden
  3. Tap to pay. Sweden is a cashless society and having a Apple Pay / Google Pay style system where one doesn’t need to enter PIN codes into third party devices to pay is such a great security measure

Mine would be

  1. Voicemail notification
  2. Group texting (I know this is in progress!)
  3. GPS point to point

More wants:
4. The Lock Screen being darker and something usable or blank. The light color gives me a “someone just texted or called” vibe and constantly makes me think I missed something. I really liked the dark screen of the LP2 with just time and a little asterisk if there is a notification.
5. Data being able to be used for weather updating and maps. (Pure talk and US mobile) I know Urzula and I were talking about this already, I just haven’t been able to get a picture yet.
6. Definitely ring tones/text tones for individual numbers. I had no idea how much I depend on this to let me know if I need to check who is contacting me or not.

Mine would be:

  1. Messaging Apps - I’d like to see native support for a small number of commonly used messaging applications. Id then consider including it in the setup process, so users can select the app that want, or, none at all. This would ensure I only install what I want.
  2. Payment Support - We need a wallet of some kind so we can at least use contactless payments. However, there are still issues even we get this. If I use my Mudita phone as my daily driver, I have no quick and easy way to check my balance or get notifications when money leaves my account.
  3. UI Customisation - It would be nice to reorder the apps I have.
