I would love to see a search option in the SMS messaging app to find threads or specific conversations since scrolling is limited due to the nature of e-ink displays

Some SMS features
I like the ability to filter out junk sms similar to the settings related to silencing unknown callers. So your phone silences unknown sms. Ability to block junk sms numbers.

Ability to create a contact from a sms.

I silence unknown numbers, callers with no caller ID to eliminate spam callers. These callers go to my telco message bank where my voice message asks they txt me, who they are, brief description and a callback number else I assume a spammer.

That is why I like the ability to add a contact at sms screen so if they a genuine contact I can add them.

Are you able to add participants to create a group sms chat, I couldn’t see how, but maybe something coming later.

Honestly, I’m pretty happy as is. I do not sideload. If I were pressed I would ask for two additional features:

1. native podcast player
2. timer/stopwatch

The Kompakt is my daily driver. Love it. Really happy carrying it around and traveling with my NA edition to Europe. Hopefully it works as well in Asia. My only real concern is having to part when it is time to send in for a new battery. I will likely buy a back up in a year or two.

One of my favorite things - plugging in the Etymotic ER4SR in the 3.5mm jack to listen to my collection of flac music. Priceless.

Everything else is covered in the roadmap. Very much looking forward to the Sept update.

It’s wonderful to hear that it’s working well as your daily driver and that you’ve already had such a positive travel experience with it in Europe. We also love that you’re making the most of the 3.5mm jack and FLAC support (I’m also a HUGE fan of the 3.5mm jack & I’m baffled that phones have mostly removed it)

I agree. Podcasts are a big part of people’s lives. A stopwatch is also quite useful.

Also I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it, but many phones that have Wifi enabled are constantly transmitting their list of known Wifi access points. These can be recorded and used to track people e.g. to their workplaces and homes. So if the Mudita didn’t do that, it would increase privacy.

I only turn on WiFi at home. Otherwise, always off. Bluetooth only in car, otherwise, it is off too. There is always the privacy + physical switch - a true sleep aid

Hi there team! I want to say I am really enjoying this phone despite it needing some things adjusted here and there. I am happy to be a part of its beginnings and that this forum is very active with customers and admins.
My current ask is for adjustments to the muditaOS to help me reduce time trying to find outside sideloaded solutions. This includes:

1. notification options for sideloaded apps // some sort of
   solution to see notifications all together or to simply know which app has new notifications. This will save me time from checking periodically. (Important convos on signal.) My sideloaded apps or launchers have not been sufficient other than on inkOS.
2. a way to close apps more easily than going through settings and to info. (I have a killall app sideloaded but eh)
3. Possibly even a way to see ALL the apps (app drawer?) in addition to the ones on the curated homescreen. App arrangement would also be nice for priority apps.
4. OS stability of course, which youre probably already working on. For some reason my mudita kompakt is sometimes flashing an image i had assigned to other (now uninstalled) launchers’ wallpapers. Also, the offline switch messing with the camera and system crashing is still happening.

I have tried many launchers for the mudita and while inkOS seems to be the most extensive and customizable launcher, I just want a native OS with a few more options so that I can build a better relationship to the phone.

Still, all in all this is working for me! I assessed whether a minimal phone would work in my life before I purchased, and it does. The mudita kompakt is my main phone with supplemental use of my iphone (and the use of that second phone is decreasing.) So, thank you!

A simple countdown timer and stopwatch! Come on Guys, super easy I’ve never had a phone that didn’t have this function as part of the timer. Plus Custom times not just set times for the meditation timer.

Turn off hotspot when not in use. This function is there but it doesn’t work! just fix it!

A pattern as a security option to open the phone ? not sure if possible with e ink but itd be way easier than fingerprint to use.

Most Wi-Fi networks broadcast their name (SSID) so the device can easily find and connect to them. This is the only scenario that the Kompakt is configured for currently.

However, I do use a couple of hidden networks which don’t broadcast the SSID / name. So these networks won’t show up in the list of available Wi-Fi networks. I have to manually enter the name and other details to connect.

The Kompakt doesn’t have a menu to do this, so I’m stuck using networks that might not be trusted and without a VPN.

I want to support the desire to be able to connect to hidden Wi-Fi networks. It is unexpected that this is not possible.

Update: I revise my previous support for this option. While it may occasionally be helpful, hiding the Wi-Fi network is by no means advisable.

I appreciate this thread and I see a lot of great ideas. I just ordered my Kompakt but won’t be arriving for another few days, so I cannot add to the requests list just yet. However, as proof of the existence of this thread, Mudita should create some sort of feature backlog upvote system where users can submit their ideas (and staff can moderate and only approve acceptable ones to be published/upvoted) and users able to upvote ideas they really really want the devs to implement. The company can still keep their own feature prioritization, but perhaps sprinkle ideas from this list in their todo. And as much as we appreciate @urszula bringing our requests to the team, this system would free up her time to do more high value activities.
