Outlook/ CalDAV, CardDAV support for Calendar and Contacts on Kompakt

I do not know. I suppose that we could get it if enough of us were to petition for it!

I think was commented at some point, and they said this kind of sync was out of the scope and target of the phone

Thank you! What would be step 2 haha? Also is good cloud preferred to tab.digital?

I cannot say, but you may want to search the Web for even more providers that have a ā€œFreeā€ level of usage.

yes, this is absolutely vital.

i love my MK, but i need it to be just a bit smarter with its open source integrations, such as CalDAV / CardDAV / Davx5.

i’d love for this to be my main phone, honestly, but little things like this get in the way of that. i want to be free from distractions, but i do need utility and connectivity with my family.

I can cope without calendar syncing, but would find it very useful to import a calendar file

Do you get any notifications on your Kompakt with Etar? I’m not getting notified of events on mine.

No, but I am okay with that, as I tend to look at it daily to see what to expect for the day.

UPDATE: Our team is working on allowing the Importing of calendar data from Google Calendar- I will ask again about SYNC.

This is great news, thank you! Even if syncing with Google can’t be done for privacy reasons, at least having CalDav integration would be a huge improvement!

This entire thread (and others) is an example of the necessity to release the apps created for this phone under an OSI-approved open-source license. It is maybe unreasonable to expect Mudita developers to build in support for all edge cases, but allowing for community contribution and forks can make the Kompakt usable for so many more people.

I love the battery life and mobile radio kill switch for privacy and security reasons, but the only Mudita app that I can really use is the phone app. Everything else is missing crucial features, including the launcher app, that I would be more-than-happy to add through contributions under an open-source license.

I actually agree, I’m a programmer and would gladly contribute if able. It’d also free the Mudita developers to focus only on the major issues and new features, without needing to worry about every complaint they get.

Awesome news! Really a crucial feature… even for a minimalist device. The Light Phone II had google cal sync. This will be a great addition to the device. Thank you!

I would like to add my voice to the request for CalDav support for the calendar app. By ā€˜support’, I mean the ability of the app to work with data stored in the Android calendar that is accessible by Davx5. I love the look and simplicity of the standard calendar app, and would love to be able to use it.

All my calendars are shared with my family to help us coordinate our lives. Personally, I see no point in having a calendar on just one device.

Importing calendar data once is one thing, but honestly, it’s not that useful, at least not for me. It would therefore be great to learn about the plan for syncing. @urszula ! Thanks a lot!
