One week with the mudita kompakt as a software developer

@simonepsp I’m going to ask our team about this & I will get back to you.

I second this! There are some times that I would like to be interrupted by a phone call from my wife, but I don’t want to be interrupted by other notification sounds.

Yeah this one is big for me, I don’t want notifications from texts when I am at work, I literally only need calls to come through from my kids school, thats it, I hope this gets addresses soon in an update, hopefully we don’t have to wait months for this because I want to control how my phone notifies me this is crucial if you own a minimalist/dumbphone

I second this. Android’s implementation is already there. Mudita developers should focus on fixing the UI bugs that prevent DND settings from being changed and finally unhide the DND page.

Do not Disturb is a BASIC phone functionality nowadays. In my line of work I need to be able to receive phone calls at night time or early morning, as I work with multiple timezones. But I can’t be bothered by random signal/wa notifications if I’m sleeping.
It can’t be all or nothing (Offline+). Hope this will be fixed soon…

Incredible post, thank you so much for this. Have implemented a couple step which has improved my experience immensely.

If I use the below command for turning off notifications, what would I need to use if I ever wanted to turn it back on?

Also you mentioned that you are able to pay using your kompakt, what wallet are you using that allows this?

Hello,

Regarding your first question, you could set the notification sound from sound settings and it will override this setting, or use the same command specifying the id of a custom sound if you’d like that.

Regarding the second one, I use Openbank which supports wireless payments without google services, I just set it up as my default contactless payment app in settings

@madebypixel02 amazing post and very helpful. Especially the adb commands! I was pulling my hair out trying to get the home button to launch my new default launcher lol.

On that note… with Niagara Launcher, I assume you have Pro? Some of the features you list are locked behind Pro I think. How are you logging in to it? I scan the QR code it send, but it doesn’t open the Niagara app.

Or are you still using Unlauncher.

Just trying to find the best, minimal solution

having trouble with abd commands using the webapp you suggested. I’d like to set unlauncher as my default home button launcher, but the command (or any of them) isn’t working. I get:

127|Kompakt:/ $ adb shell pm disable-user --user 1 com.mudita.launcher
/system/bin/sh: adb: inaccessible or not found

I don’t have experience with adb, but I’m generally tech minded and competent. Suggestions?
Thank you.

This post needs to be pinned somewhere. If it wasn’t for someone replying to it I may have missed this great resource.

@wander I believe, if you’re using the shell terminal within webadb as opposed to your computer’s terminal, you leave off the adb shell portion of the command:
pm disable-user --user 1 com.mudita.launcher

Thanks, that seems to have disabled it in the terminal, but it doesn’t seem to fix the unlauncher as home button (I did select it in the Developer Options menu).

The command I tried was:

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.mudita.launcher

with the result

Package com.mudita.launcher new state: disabled-user

Got it  Thanks y’all.
With the unlauncher loaded, it’s basically an upgraded LP2–which I love <3

But the unlauncher has no way to show the notifications right?
The only notification I want to see is the signal stuff

Have you tried Niagara Launcher? There you can set several favourite apps on the home screen whose notifications then get displayed below the app title.

yeah I tried it but wanted to use something more simple.

Ah, I understand. I also really like Olauncher for its simple and uncluttered feel but wanted to have notifications so I went to Niagara. If I could have something more simple looking with notifications, I’d go there in a heartbeat.
