Hi,
I am experiencing an issue where I have all the vibration functions turn off even in developers options and still sms and signal messages notifications vibrate. Calls do not. Does anyone experience the same? is there something I can do to turn it off.? I want to use the phone with BT headphones during the nighttime since it helps me sleep so I can’t use the off switch or airplane mode. I have the notification sound off but the vibration would wake me up, if sms would come. This also happened before the new update.
There are some workarounds with accessing native Android settings hidden by Mudita (you can search the forum or my post history), unfortunately currently it’s pretty bad and notifications from sideloaded apps cannot be normally seen or managed
@sannasanna I was able to silence them with the workaround that @miiiiiiiiiiiii found.
You need Activity Launcher app (which helps you open dialog windows that are hidden).
Inside that scroll to find a Signal notification and when you click on it you’ll find the normal Android setting to manage the notifications for that app.
Sideloaded apps will behave differently than native apps- that’s something to keep in mind. The sms- are they coming from the native app or have you sideloaded another app to handle text messages.
Hi Urszula, thanks for coming back to me. I am talking about native sms app and this behavior was present even when I had only clean Mudita K Os without any sideloaded apps. I am not really that concerned with the Signal notifications, I can in the worst case turn off the internet for the night but there is no easy way to turn off the sms and I sometimes got sms from delivery services in the early morning and the vibration notification would disturb my sleep. I have switch off every available vibration toogle in settings and developer options as well, but the sms notification still vibrates. I noticed there were some notes about this behavior in the forum through the Mudita Kompakt existence as well. I now tested the calendar event and it vibrates as well Maybe I am doing something wrong but not sure what that could be when all the available vibration options are turned off. Thank you very much.
I have the exact same problem with the SMS Vibration! I tried every single setting and developer setting, but when i mute my phone (volume down) than it still vibrates when an SMS comes in. So it‘s not possible at the moment recieving SMS at completely muted phone. (Only airplane mode etc…) I think this is a feature that must have every phone.
You need Activity Launcher to find this hidden Activity called Notification Log. When you Launch it will show you your notifications, in there find an sms notification and click on it it will open the 3rd window where you can make it silent.
However this will always keep them silent.
In the next update for inkOS i’m including a shortcut to this activity so people can go and change it a little quicker when they need to.
Hi Urszula, any update about this, please? More over, lately after the 1.2 update native keyboard started to acted up in native notes and calendar. It won’t write the letters but skip at the end. I need to restart the app to be able to use the keyboard.
No i dont have any sideloaded apps. I just use the phone as it came. But when i mute the sms still vibrates, there is no option to turn off vibration for sms only for incoming calls. Hope there will be an option in the near future because it‘s like a basic function it should have because the only thing that helps is flightmode but then i dont see who callwd or texted me etc…
@urszula No, I am referring to vibration for sms in native app even if I have every vibration option set as off as we discussed it earlier in this post and you promised to take it with the devs. In meantime dikipej also reported it.
Yes I have! But the problem still exists… I guess you have maybe turned it off from an old version, because I just bought the mudita kompakt and immediately updated to the newest version, and there is no way to turn vibration off for sms hope so much this will be fixed, because it‘s something so elementary for every user I guess.
@anon51459436 Let me talk to our team. Let’s see if they have any ideas. I have 1.2.0 installed & I do get vibrations from Signal- but I knew that coming in. However, I don’t get vibrations from SMS notifications.
I just sent couple SMS to myself. Whether I have touch vibrations or not (all else is off), whether I have some notification sound or turned volume down to zero, incoming SMS vibrations persist. Not a big deal to me but thought of giving another test sample to the pool.
