Not able to open text message hyperlinks

Kompact Newbie here

My apologies if this has already been brought up, i tried the search option and was not able to find any info.

I sideloaded E inkBro which works great. I was hoping it would also allow me to open hyperlinks received in SMS. but unfortunately i still cant. Is there a setting or something that i need to adjust to make the hyperlinks open up E inkBro?

Second day with my kompakt NA version and im enjoying the experience so far however apparently, people cannot send me links/videos via text for some reason! makes me kinda nervous that im not receiving other texts. Is this happening with anyone else? Also the bluetooth cuts out for no reason sometimes… otherwise it works good im on Verizon btw, also they should start selling cases that protect the usb port and headphone jack cuz if water touches this guy then its over for him

Thanks for replying. I read the thread which explains the issue of why I cant open links, but is there an option/way to open these links or is it not possible? Will i have to install a messaging app? (prefer not to)

It’s not possible. The Native SMS app is not connected to Webview & there is no browser on Mudita Kompakt, unless you sideloaded it.

oh ok… yeah i sideloaded a browser (e inkbro) but nothing happened… i wasn’t
sure if there was a setting i missed or something.

@gus.m21 Even though you sideloaded a browser, the native SMS app is not designed for that, so that’s why. You’ll be able to open it in other messenger apps.
