So, I just got my first spam text on the Kompakt, which is something that I had prevented on my previous phone. Still, whatever, I just decided to block the number.
But… when I blocked the number, it removed all group message threads from the SMS app.
I figured out how to unblock the number, then the group messages re-appeared.

I can confirm this bug. I just thought the issues was with the SMS app reading group messages, so I sideloaded another messenging app and had been using that. It wasn’t until I read and tested it myself by deleting a blocked number that I realized you were correct.
Did you report it through other means?

Also noticed this issue, pretty big bug will this be fixed in upcoming update? This means you can’t filter spam texts out which means your phone will be even more annoyingly chiming with notifications than a non-minimalist phone…

I was wishing they’d fix this bug sooner, but the Mudita response is that group messaging is not completely supported yet. The workaround for now is sideloading an alternative SMS app.
@urszula Is there an update for this fix? Looks like it is not expected in 1.3.0.

@paxristi Group messaging support is on the roadmap & it will be in another update this fall.

@urszula I guess I thought that additional support would be to allow you to send group messages. Receiving group messages would seem to be a bug fix (to recap the issue, only if there are any blocked numbers on the phone, it will ding and an SMS notification will show up on the lockscreen, but no message shows up in the Messages app—if there are no blocked numbers on the phone, group messages show up just fine).
