To answer your question quickly, i will just give u a workaround quickly because this stuff might not come inside the next inkOS but as a companion app.
The workaround, install Katapult, off course during onboarding it will ask you to make it a default launcher.
Set up the lock-screen notifications (it has it’s own action service that it requires for this).
Then go back to inkOS and set it again as a default launcher. That way you can have the benefits of the Lockscreen notifications , but still keep inkOS as your default launcher.

Hey,
I’m now an happy Katapult user but I’ve hit a small problem: I cannot clear notifications from app that are on the home screen.
I’ve hidden them from the “all apps” menu which allowed me to keep only 2 pages long. So I just can’t get rid of those notifications. Or am I missing somethig?

No you’re not missing, it’s a short-coming that I haven’t resolved yet. There’s an option to lock home editing which would release the “longpress”, but that is taken from the app info, which was an idea to help users kill apps quicker.
In the next release I will solve this, just not sure yet but I do have some ideas. The next update should be quicker so if u can put the home apps back to all apps until I fix this

@gezimos when pinching for the screensaver, is it supposed to flash the lock screen before the screensaver? Or is that a glitch? It’s weird sometimes it shows the lock screen and others directly to the screensaver. I can’t seem to force it one way or the other. Also when I say lock screen, I mean the blank screen with the right side lock button. I tried it with the power button to initiate screensaver toggled on and off.

With the pinch and the quick menu shortcut for Screensaver it shouldn’t show the “sleep screen with lock icon at all”. But it is inconsistent and it still does show it sometimes hence why I have marked it experimental, because when the sleep screen appears it’s out of my control. (I will continue investigating tho).

As a new Kompakt user, I’m thinking of installing the Katapult launcher (great work by Gezimos by the way ). I’ve already installed a few apps, such as Telegram and WhatsApp, on my phone.
If I install Katapult, will I need to reinstall and reconfigure these apps?

Katapult is just a third-party home app (in android they’re called launchers). It will not affect any of your others apps or how you have configured them.
I have a youtube video linked in the original post that you can look how to set it up. It’s for v1.3 but it is very similar to v1.4 for the most part.

(It just happens that the issue appeared the day I switched to Katapult, which confused me)

It happened to me a day before you reported it, and I wasn’t able to fix it until I logged in with a google account of my own.
It must be Google putting limits on AuroraStore users because this error is new for me. Maybe they found the pattern of the Anonymous accounts Aurora creates and limited them to force users to identify with their own accounts.

I just tried Aurora Store again because I had 2 updates waiting which I couldn’t install yesterday. Strangely it did just update them, everything worked normally, but only 3 minutes later it wouldn’t let me install a new app. It showed its version number as “0” which is weird.

(If you’re coming from 1.4 you should be able to check from Katapult Settings / System / Check for Updates).
As always I suggest making a backup of your config in: Setitngs / Config Export/Import

1. The home grid matches the all apps grid
Now the icons in home will match same location as icons in all apps, so everything will be aligned (if you’re not using the arrows in all apps). Hope you enjoy the update @Little-User
As a result of the grid change I was able to provide a bigger icon size (80x80) which will be the new default (or keep the old 72x72). Choose in Settings / Appearance. I think it was @marko who asked for bigger icons
2. You can choose what longpress in home icon does (settings/gestures).
Some users want to hide the home apps from all apps, and be able to clear notifications from home for those apps. You’ll be able to choose what longpress does (replaces the DIsable home editing toggle).
- App info (to kill apps faster)
- Context menu
- Clear Notifications (for that app)
- Edit shortcut
- Do nothing
@ploum I hope this solves your issue for clearing notifications after u’ve hidden the home apps in the all apps menu.
3. You can enable the Katapult Audio Widget in Lockscreen so you can control third-party music or podcasts apps.
This will not appear if you’re using the Mudita Music app. Only for third-party apps which Mudita doesn’t allow access to the audio widget.
You can enable it in Settings / Lockscreen / Enable music controls

4. Order Apps. I don’t want to add new activities here like Recents or most used, but from now on you can choose All apps ordering:
- Alphabetical (like currently, off course it remembers if you have reordered them)
- Most used (will order apps by your most used ones, so the order will change based on usage)
- Most recent (so it puts most recent apps on the top)
This will require Usage permission and it will be asked during enabling this feature. You can always go back to alphabetical and it should remember your custom order (if you had any).
5. You can enable weather now to be above clock (same row as battery or alarm), you can enable or disable any of them in Settings / Home
This reads the weather form the weather app, there’s nothing I can do to make the weather more correct in your city. It updates when it updates on the weather app. Shows only the default location.
- New installs from 1.5 onward start with:
- the extra 3 apps in home
- vertical All Apps gestures
- page arrows hidden
- infinite scroll off
- 80 x 80 icons
Updating from an earlier version changes nothing: your settings are kept exactly as they are, icons included. I just thought I’ll make the default navigating faster, especially now that I matched the grid on both home and all apps.

7. I’ve done some reorganization of menus to make things a bit more intuitive, and changed some of the cycle switches to bottom sheets.
8. I’ve added two Android setting features in Settings
- Notification History (under Notifications
This should help debugging similar to Notification Log - Settings Search (under Sytem)
This can be helpful to find android settings that are hidden and not available in Developer Options.

I would like to have the music widget on the screensaver is that possible?
Also, I love the menu change for the icon long press on the Home Screen, can we have that for the All Apps Screen as well? For example, once I have all my apps and UI set, I really only use the app info on the All Apps screen to force close. You could make the full menu one of the optional choices vs the others just like the Home Screen options. On my Home Screen I would mainly use clear notifications. So for me, I would make a different choice between the Home Screen and the All Apps screen.

Great idea, but I think this request should go to Mudita. The underlaying feature is already there, Mudita has just hidden the setting. If you go to Katapult Settings / System / Settings Search (and search for Add text to lockscreen) you will see this feature is already but if u add text it doesn’t appear in Lockscreen because Mudita has disabled it. It’s much easier for them to implement this than for me to add a widget (the lockscreen features I’ve implemented are already very experimental so I’m avoiding adding anymore stuff).
It was introducing more flashing issues, so I avoided that. Also I don’t want for people to get very comfortable with the screensaver being on for a long time. It’s really a workaround and it eats battery a lot.
This would be a nice addition, I’ll add it on my notes but I can’t promise I’ll implement it. The reason I did it for home is because it was a must after the phone app bug.
