File managing not working after the new mudita center update

I have not installed the Mudita Center, and don’t have a need to.

Does the connecting cable makes a difference? One cable did not work for me.

I successfully connected my Kompakt to Windows PC with a USB A 3.0 to USB C and Internal shared storage folder opens with 13 folders so I wonder if the Mudita Center is a necessary thing to install is a person just wants to move files to folders because I have no problem doing it without the Mudita Center.

I haven’t tried it on a Linux or Mac yet.

This is also happening to me! Just got my device yesterday, followed all the steps to hopefully download files.. but every time I click the Manage Files, the screen goes blank.

I just got my phone today and I found the solution. The application should be working fine its that your phone is not up to date. If you just got your phone, you have to do a series of updates (it was like 3 or 4 cycles of download and update for me) on it until its up to date (as of today 1.4.0 is most current). Keep checking your “Software Update” section in settings until your at (1.4.0). If you ever get an error downloading the update, give the phone more time to boot up and try again. I also had the white page in Mudita Center “Manage Files” but fully updating my phone (took about 1-2 hours) has resolved the issue. Also, make sure your using a good cable. I used Muditas USB type a to type c cable with an apple usb adapter and the cable didnt work. A data cable designed for data transfer works well for me (like an Anker cable).

Welcome to this splendid Forum!

I am new too and learning so many things about this phone every day :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:

@edwardtsema - WELCOME TOO!

Wow! thanks for this detailed response. I will go through the update process and see if that if that helps! The team got back to me via email, and here is what they suggested:

*“Here is what can help if you’re facing difficulties connecting to Mudita Center:

  1. Restart, then reconnect the device.
  2. Restart your computer, then try to connect again.
  3. Try connecting through a different USB port in your computer. It makes sense to try all available ports if necessary.
  4. Try using a different USB-C cable.
  5. If you have a USB-C port in your computer, you may also try connecting the device using a USB-C to USB-C cable.
  6. Delete and reinstall Mudita Center, then try to connect your device (restart and reconnect it if not recognized right away).
  7. Do a factory reset of your device (CAUTION: this process deletes all user data - this might not be a good idea if you’re trying to connect a Mudita Kompakt or Pure and unable to create a backup file beforehand).
  8. If all of the tips above fail, you may also try to connect through another computer, if possible.

Based on experience, I would especially highlight points 3, 4 and 5 as the most likely to help.”*

Update: I did these updates, and it finally worked. Thank you!
