Fading E-Ink Cells/Display in Sunlight

In other words: don’t even turn it on.

So has there been ANY of Mudita’s marketing promises that haven’t been broken ?

  • Screen works great in sunlight - not true (see above)
  • Battery lasts up to 6 days - not even close, maybe 2 at best
  • Calls not coming through, especially important ones are often missed (wtf?)
  • Now I could go on about the non-working spam blocker, the offline switch that does NOT block all connections, and so on and on

So does all this justify the price of 440 Euros, when virtually nothing seems to work as it should ?

No it doesn’t meet my expectations @YYZ. Its cost is something like 75% higher than justifiable if it were a mass produced product.

I know that I bought a working concept of a minimalist phone, it works as a second mobile phone. The e-ink screen is satisfactory for the needs of some people, or maybe just me.

I think it’s this Mudita forum discussing the concept of a phone that I like best. I have convinced myself that the Kompakt phone is priced to cover the R&D for a future award winning minimalist e-ink phone that will do even more than my $40 flip phone.
