Customer support thread (all questions welcome)

If I am reading it correctly it only requires Rosetta 2 for newer M silicon Macs and they are using the Intel Mac native code. I just installed Mudita center on my 2020 Mac and it worked fine. maybe worth installing and checking.

Ok so, yes, the specific need for Rosetta2 is actually for later Mac’s. My old MacBook pro (pre APPLE Silicon) works fine.

Just to clarify: Mudia Center will run on older MacOS ( INTEL ) and new MacOS Apple Silicon ( M1 )
The poster @victorpure was inquiring whether Mudita plans to release a native version of the Mudita Center app for macOS that is optimized for Apple Silicon (M1/M2 chips) and does not require Rosetta 2.
The answer to that is that that we don’t plan on making a separate version of Mudia Center just for MacOS. The current version works with Windows, Linux & Macs.
I hope that this clarified things for you guys.

Hi, I am an Indiegogo backer from UK and received a sequence of emails yesterday starting with “Packed NEW”, then “In delivery NEW” and shortly afterwards “Complete” - however I didn’t receive any parcels as far as I can tell. NB I have 2 different order numbers as I requested a screen protector and case add on later - so far as I can tell the in delivery/complete is for the add ons (though fwiw I never received an email explicitly mentioning the order number for the phone itself, just an Indiegogo receipt back in January), whereas I received the packed message for both. Do I have anything to worry about?

Greetings, noble Szlachta!

While eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new little companion, more and more questions keep popping into my head. I figured opening a new forum topic every time might not be the most noble way, so I’ll just ask here.

I’m really curious about the hotspot function — because I plan to keep using my Apple Watch to stay connected with my daughter (via iMessage), and for my sports routines. Here’s the idea:

My iPhone stays at home, serving as a tool for banking apps and other heavy-duty stuff. When I head out into the world with my glorious Mudita, I turn on the hotspot, and my watch connects. I’ve tested this with a mobile modem, and it works like magic.

So my humble question is: will there be a quick toggle for turning the hotspot on?

And also — I’m very curious, what kind of battery life could I expect when using the device in this kind of hotspot mode? Just a rough estimate would be super helpful.

@tkfa I’m sorry that you’re expecting some confusion. Since I don’t have direct access to orders, I would suggest that you contact our customer service directly at support@mudita.com. They will be able to get you all the info you need.

@victorpure You can definitely use the hotspot function, but it will impact the battery life of your Mudita Kompakt. The hotspot function can be turned on in Settings>>>>Network & Internet >>>>>>Hotspot & Tethering
There is not shortcut.
We haven’t tested HOW it will impact battery life because the main focus of Mudita Kompakt is to be less online, not having a constant connection.

You do have quick access to the hotspot by pressing the button above the flight mode symbol, in the control centre. You can toggle it on and off by pressing that button. If you need to do something in the settings, you can get there by long-pressing the button :slightly_smiling_face:

@pugly Oh yes, I forgot about that. Thanks!

Is it normal for the UPS warehouse in Warsaw to sit on a Mudita shipment to the USA for more than one day?

My Kompakt has been stuck there now for two days and is feeling abandoned.

I have a question about the reader. When I have tried to use it makes the text grey instead of black, which makes the text harder to read for me. Is it supposed to be like that? The thing that bothers me most is that it starts out as black text but then switches to grey. Is it supposed to be like that, or is it a bug? The text in the book is black on my other devices.
This is how it first looks for less than a second:

And then it turns to this grey instead:

Sideloaded apps cannot use antialiasing but there is more options for font.

Is that either ‘The Little Hobbit’ or one of the LOTR books?
My Kompakt should arrive tomorrow and I can’t wait to try out the e-reader :star_struck:

Can you help me setting up my photo manager to download photo to Mac? I can’t get openMTP to work. Ive closed owncloud and dropbox, both MTP’s can’t find the phone.

Edit: it worked with enabling developer mode, in Macdroid. I didn’t plan to enable the developer mode or sideload, but at this moment it will be logical to do so.

Hi,

Is there a way to make the system font size in Mudita Kompakt bigger? Most other Android phones have this accessibility feature.

Ah, thank you! I guessed from some of the names and the little bit of Polish that I understand (words that are similar in Czech).

My Mudita is currently in delivery and I keep refreshing my tracking app

Is this normal? stuck in UPS’ Warsaw warehouse with the status “The parcel is in a secure facility pending clearance or resolution.”

One thing imma tell ya, I’m happy that there is an option for updates and fixes. With dumbphones, if the OS was undercooked, you could do nothing about it. Even KaiOS, I’ve been sending lots of feedback but they didn’t care.
