To get in the Aurora store I have to publish in the play store. I’m not sure the apps are ready for that just yet. The api-key insertion on the Directory for instance will be interesting to see if Google would allow (I doubt it.)
Regardless, my plan is to publish in Aurora and F-droid the moment I have a Release V1 candidate. I think I’m pretty close on both apps but there are a few things to tighten up.
Thanks, David. One of the reasons I asked (and forgive my lack of knowledge) was: if I manually sideload your apps, would I also need to update them as new versions become available?
Unfortunately, ya, you have to manually install new version at the moment.
I’m looking into a simple way to notify via the app that a new version is available but I don’t want a call to an api to handle that. I want this app as clean as possible of api hits to random urls.
No. It exists in Android but obviously Mudita didn’t find it necessary to make this feature available to the user.
You can install InkOS and run it without setting it as your default launcher, then you can easily go back to the stock launcher by pressing the home button. However if you want to stay with InkOS, you need to deactivate the stock launcher.
You can check out @gezimos videos for demos and instructions: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1ZR_4AF7iL9IJP6nEFHR2Q
Once you run InkOS, you can go to the app drawer and there you find the FM radio. For further questions about InkOS you should ask @gezimos who is the developer.
Can you uninstall (delete) the old app version in the Mudita Center or directly on Kompakt? In the past, I relied on F-Droid or Aurora to automatically update apps.
I have the same question in a comment below about how to update InkOS. Thanks!
Originally neither. But if you have App Manager or Package Manager or InkOS, you can uninstall apps, hide them, rename them and so on.
You also have to update InkOS by installing the new version over the old one.
If you go to app drawer in InkOS and long press any app, you get a menu where you can delete, rename and so on.
If you want to use a separate manager you can use one of those:
