No problem! Software can be a funny thing. There’s clearly a bug here somewhere though that I need to keep an eye on. Let me know if you see it again.

I have a paid subscription to a newspaper. There is a RSS feed with an ID/passwd to have access to the audio versions of the articles.
I wonder if that is supported by CalmCast ?
(don’t have my Kompakt yet, ahah 
Edit : oh, I saw someone already referred to this use case. I can share my login/passwd for test purposes if needed !

I would have to test this to know how private rss feeds work. I’m currently onboarding at a new company/job so my next few weeks are going to be a bit hectic. I’ll follow-up when I’m able to.

If you download a podcast episode, is there a way to delete/un download it when you are done listening? We don’t have much storage so I have been hesitant to download anything. However, my data is limited so it would be great if I could download over wifi and listen later.
The app has been excellent so far! Simple, clean, easy to use! Thank you!

Good question. Maybe the episodes can be stored to the SD ? Here I have a gigantic SD with all my FLAC music collection

There are people that sound like an average person when you set them to 2x speed… they would be a target for 4x to sound like a regular guy on 2x. 
I think YT premium now has 3x or 4x but there’s a simple JS injection to adjust YT playback speed on a laptop browser to any value.

I love this app so much. Thank you. Suggestions:
- The app crashes when scrolling through a podcast that has a lot of episodes. Can we please get a search function for each podcast page rather than attempting to scroll through dozens of episodes?
- Folders would be great.
- It would be nice to get notifications for new episodes, or a specific new episodes page.
Great job again! I hope you consider making more apps!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I’ve got episode searching on my shortlist. I’ve addressed notifications before (this is a massive thread so I understand not seeing it) but ultimately I won’t do notifications for my apps because it takes away from the core principles I am trying to instill of mindful consumption.

Thank you for this app @davidray, it’s exactly what I was looking for. I can tell a lot of intention went into building it.
Hope you don’t mind me @-ing you, but I noticed that the floating mini player defaults to an area of the screen that obscures the SMS and Apps icons on the Kompakt. Is it the OS that sets the default location or does CalmCast do that? I know you can manually relocate the mini player but if there was a way to have it default to a better location that would be awesome.
Another thing I noticed is that the skip forward/backward controls on my headphones don’t work as they do with apps on other devices (with CalmCast, the skip backward button restarts the episode, and the skip forward button doesn’t do anything). Is this a situation where control signals are interpreted differently with different devices/apps? Or is this working as you intended it to? Could there be control settings within CalmCast that would let users configure hardware buttons to different app functions? I could 100% understand if you didn’t want to build that into the app, but for me skipping back 30 seconds is a function I use much more often than restarting an episode so I’m curious.

Have been using this app for some weeks now and loving it! The one improvement I would love to see is the ability to pause and rewind episodes from locked screen.

The system defaults the location of the mini player but I can definitely look into it to see if they allow me to change that location.
I’ve actually had it on my to-do list for a while to fix the skip buttons for a while now and just haven’t gotten around to it. Hopefully I can find some time soon to do it.

I’m glad you’re finding some use out of it! The lock screen on the Kompakt is currently “locked down” to only first party apps like their built-in music player. Hopefully that will change in the near future.

An option to sort podcast episodes from newest to oldest and vice-versa would be helpful rather than trying to scroll to the oldest episode (especially if the podcast has many episodes).
Mudita should definitely allow third-party access to the media widget!
