I experienced a couple of times the annoying following situation :
I use Mudita Center to add a PDF file in the ebook folder
I check on my phone that it is readable
When I unplug the phone the PDF is gone, they become invisible on the phone !
If I connect it again, they are still visible from Mudita Center
It’s very annoying when you expect to rely on these files: (train ticket, for exemple!)
I encounter this type of bug with 1.3.0 as well as 1.4.0 version of OS. I suspected it has something to do with special characters in the file name, but it is not.
What is likely happening is a synchronization lag between the physical file storage and the Android MediaStore database.
When you transfer a file via Mudita Center, the file is successfully written to the phone’s memory (which is why you see it when you plug it back in).
However, the E-Reader app does not browse “folders” directly; it asks the Android system, “What books do you have indexed?”
If the system’s “Media Scanner” does not trigger immediately after you unplug the USB cable, the database isn’t updated, and the E-Reader thinks the file doesn’t exist yet.
Please try these steps to force the file to appear:
Restart the Device: This is the most reliable fix. Restarting the phone forces the operating system to re-scan the entire internal storage, which usually updates the database and makes the “invisible” files appear in the E-Reader.
Wait a few minutes after unplugging: Sometimes the scanner takes 1-2 minutes to run in the background after the USB cable is disconnected.
Do not read files on Kompakt while transferring.
Verify the Folder Location: Ensure Mudita Center is placing the files strictly in the Documents or eBooks folder. Make sure you do not use SD Card as internal storage as this is not fully supported by Kompakt.
I restarted the phone : the file is still not visible from the app, and has disappeared from Mudita Center as well.
Then I tried again with several files, including the one that disappeared previously. This time everything seems fine.
I assume there was a transfer problem which made Mudita Center think the file is there whereas the phone has not really received it. This is strange since I tried several times before opening this topic.
