I am voting for the go game
Yes, if there were another game in the plans, my choice would also be go
Hi! Welcome to the Forum.
While @urszula has a day off today, I’ll allow myself to answer some of your questions:
- frontlight - as far as I know, the light tone is limited by hardware and cannot be changed. Personally, I use my Kompakt without any frontlight whenever possible! It’s like reading on paper.
- E Ink® is definitely one of our passions at Mudita, and we’re always working to optimize the way it works. I’ll share your feedback with the team.
- vibrations - I’ll share the feedback. I checked, and it’s the same on my Kompakt.
- screensaver/lockscreen - currently, we’re focusing on other features and fixes, but we do see that this is something of interest to the Community.
- notifications - feedback passed on
- keyboard - feedback passed on
- timer - it is a feature that was requested by many in the community, and while it’s not being worked on at the moment, we’re aware of the interest in it.
- calendar - feedback passed on.
- screen protector - it is not on our roadmap at this time.
- as of now, all we can say is July. We’ve been really careful when sharing timelines and dates because we treat such commitments extremely serious.
I hope this helps, at least a little. I know there’s a lot of “maybes” and “feedback passed on’s”, but I assure you that the feedback IS indeed passed on and IS reviewed.
Is the oversensitive fingerprint/unlock in this development cycle? I think it’s wideless understood that the fingerprint sensor is essentially unusable in its current state.
Regarding the frontlight, it is almost certainly hardware limited - I still can’t understand why a cold frontlight was chosen
Hi @urszula , I am not sure but I think I need to tag you in order to get info about my bluetooth question in this update, so here it is
Hi, no update from the team yet. We’ll let you know once they respond.
How about double tap screen to lock?
For those looking for a timer, you can sideload Timer plus, I believe I got it from the Aurora store, fantastic timer, and for separating the text and call notifications you can sideload the QUICK sms, you can silence texts messages permanently, has been a game changer for me
What about the alarm clock bug? So that it doesn’t ring or rings late. Will this be fixed with the next update? Unfortunately I couldn’t read anything about it.
For me the Alarm is ringing at the right time set in the App. What is the bug that you find?
This has often been discussed here in the forum. If you set the alarm clock in the evening, it won’t ring in the morning or it will ring late. As if the process is killed in the background after some time. If I now set the alarm clock to ring in 5 minutes, the error does not occur.
Ok. Thanks Marko for explanation.
Any chance that we can get a timer app on the Mudita Kompakt? Or at least include it in the alarms?
Hopefully we do , in the meantime I sideloaded Timer Plus, its a great timer app
Would the music control widget work for other sideloaded players like Spotify, as many of us will continue using that over the stock app? So it makes more sense to make the widget for a global audio player.
And will the widget be permanently visible or only when the music player is active? I don’t want to have such a widget permanently on the home screen.
I would love to have the ability to import calendar events using the Mudita Center
Is it possible to get clarification on the recommendation to not install apps that handle financial transactions? If you sideload your bank’s app, it technically handles financial transactions so are you more exposed on the Kompakt than on a ‘standard’ smartphone? Or is this just a general common-sense recommendation to be cautious when online?
@renaudlb Our Managing Director @michalstasiuk has previously advised against sideloading bank apps & other financial apps. This is mainly because we cannot verify the source of the app (as secure) since we do not have an app store. So, the third-party apps come from an external source (such as an APK site).
I’m not familiar with Aurora store- so I cannot comment on the security of the apps on that store. However, when you’re downloading an APK which uses your financial info- unless that app comes DIRECTLY from you bank- I would not be 100% sure that it’s safe.
Thank you for the clarification @urszula, it makes perfect sense
