@petemeister It includes the option of Flash SMS, which some providers can also use as notification. However, I don’t know if that works for all providers. Our team is looking at other options for 1.3.0
I’ve been using 1.2.0 since July 22. Today (July 28) the SMS app crashed several times. Also, the camera app no longer works. I do not use the camera often so I am unsure it it has worked since updating to 1.2.0
Any thoughts?

Enjoying the phone overall. After updating my phone and going to bed last night I woke up thinking about improvements I’d like to see in this phone:
Clock
It seems obvious to me that the lockscreen should allow for a nice display of the time, which could be dimly lit with back light. The new lockscreen is lacking character. Make it a clock and/or enable phone owners to use their custom images. As the phone has that hardware switch to disconnect antenna/bluetooth/wifi etc I’d feel comfortable to use it as an alarm clock… and I’m not going to buy a second mudita gadget (the cool alarm clock) as well as the phone… so can you make the phone double as a groovy clock too please… I’d like to see a few different options (digital/analog clock displays) and be able to see when the alarm is set for.
Contacts
Please add a category ‘birthday’ that could integrate with the calendar (or any other calendar – I’m using Proton and would looove to see peoples birthday pop up on it. Also the calendar should have a repeat event option for adding things like birthdays.
chess app
The chess app is really not great and ultimately it’s boring playing against a computer. Lichess is open source, free and fantastic. I have sideloaded Lichess onto the kompakt but the display is not super great - what would be awesome is to build a customised mudita chess app using the lichess engine… not sure if that’s possible but that would be awesome!
Security
I find it slightly annoying that I need to use a six digit code to unlock my phone. It’s not necessary to use six digits - it’s my phone and I’d be happy using four. Plus the keyboard lag makes it slightly more annoying. The fingerprint scan I have now abandoned because it was just not working at all…
messages
I can’t see a way to create a group message. I can’t select multiple images to send in a text.

My Kompakt isn’t recognising the 512gb SD card now that I’ve installed the update… Hopefully this is fixed sooner rather than later.

Actually, super happy with the update. I agree that it would be nice to have the time on a locked screen. I have zero problems with the finger lock. I previously added a few apks but then did a factory reset - add one, one more, then another. You really have a great set of basic minimal apps. Sure, a timer would be nice.
Oddly, perhaps, my favorite feature is downloading maps and being able to move around offline. That side ‘disconnect’ button is PRICELESS. The battery life is second to none.
I am traveling to Europe in two week; I downloaded the regional and city maps. Can’t wait to walk the streets and not be instantly accessible - only family and close friends have my Mudita number.
Keep focusing on privacy - the Mudita center APK install is super nice for those so inclined but the more I use the Mudita, the less I feel compelled to add.
I know, N of 1. But his N is pretty happy and thankful. My only real worry is having to get the battery replaced in a few years. I might have to buy a backup phone au cas où.

I have some feedback for the E-Reader app and want to share it. Sorry in advance if this already has been posted elsewhere:
- The phone locks itself while reading according to the appropriate system setting. While this is technically correct it is very annoying at the same time since with the default setting of 30 seconds it is not possible to read a page before the screen gets locked (in my case with the text size set to small). So please exclude the E-Reader from this setting or add options specifically for the E-Reader to prevent screen locking while reading.
- I, too, share the feedback stated here on this forum that the E-ink display mode and font rendering should be improved. It changes from one page to the other and the text is rather fuzzy.

What is the timeline for fixing the newly discovered bugs, such as those in the SMS app and the problem with the SD card? Will this be fixed soon, or will we have to wait until the next update, which has already been announced for fall 2025?

Another thing which comes to mind, but really is low priority from my point of view is the missing metadata for music when I connect my Kompakt via Bluetooth to our cars radio.
While everything else works just fine like phone, contacts and messages music also plays fine and music playback responds to my cars playback controls, but on the cars entertainment system display is no info shown about the currently playing music track nor the available tracks in general. This is a bit of a hassle because if I wanted to look for a specific track I’m forced to take the Kompakt into my hands. While driving this is no option, of course 
This used to work with Android and iOS smartphones and I would love to see that also happen with my Kompakt

I’m not even updating until SMS is fixed. Because with such regression any other improvements update has to offer do not matter imo

@nilstzh and @marko, I was equally concerned about the new update, but since the problem with the SMS app was due to the large size of SMS conversations, I took precautionary measures and deleted all my SMS conversations before I did the update. My SMS app works fine with the new version. This may not suit you because you might not want to delete any conversations. I just wanted to say that this worked for me. Also, a crashing core app should be patched as soon as possible, IMO.

I am guessing it’s coming with the September update. If you think about it, it’s not even that far, just like 1.5 months. If we could survive so long with missing basic features, it’s going to be easy until September

I know our team is actively working on this. I can go back to them and ask if they have a timeframe when they expect this to be fixed.
This update has really been a disaster, I am getting around 5-10 black screens a day, cannot open the camera app, chess app, whatsapp app. Almost every app I used often before the update now freezes and causing a black screen. I already emailed support because this update made my phone unusable…
