This issue was not addressed in the update. Everyone else is having the same problem.

I see reports of problems with the SMS app and increased ghosting… I’ll hold off and won’t be updating for now

Hi! Thanks for the good work put in the update.
I’ve had a little issue with mudita’s camera app after updating, it would not show any preview or take pictures, even after a reboot. I tried third party camera apps as well, which did not manage to access the camera either.
Here’s a quick fix which restored functionality for me, if you’re facing the issue as well:
go to System → Developer options → Privacy and toggle the “Camera access” radio button.

@jalucky13 I’m actually with you on this. However, when we released Mudita Kompakt, from the feedback we received, there were many people who were unhappy with the branded locks screen. There are so many posts on the forum from users voicing their opinion about how they didn’t like the logo & the branding & how it was distracting etc. One person wrote an entire thread about it 
We listened to the feedback & removed it.
Now, we have feedback, like yours, expressing interest in customization, which is what the team is working on now.

@underthesign Sideloaded apps can be removed via ADB (Android Debugging Bridge) that’s the program that also enables the apps to be installed (when you do not use Mudita Center)

There have been some comments regarding some increased ghosting with this new update- I’ve talked to the team about it & they specifically told me that there weren’t any changes made to the E ink screen. Are these ghosting issues happening on sideloaded apps? Or is this an issue with native apps?
Those of you experiencing this- could you please provide more info into what’s happening? Pictures would help.

@urszula Good morning, I am happy “owner” of the update now and really enjoy it. I don’t know why I lived under assumption that this update will include reoccurring events in calendar but I think it was discussed somewhere. Will it be in the next update, please?

yes, perhaps do som e survey with changes like this. You mostly hear in forum the voices that are dissatisfied, but not the silent majority that is really happy with the current situation (as I was as well with the previous lock screen)

The blank lock screen looks good to me. Thank you to the team for removing the branding.
On future customisation options, I’d LOVE it if notifications would show on the lock screen. That would be one of the biggest possible improvements to the Kompakt in my opinion.

I installed the update this morning here in Sydney (AU, Optus network) and everything went well. I’m noticing some of the little features in the update (e.g. removed logo on charge, battery charge limit indicator, etc). No glitches or problems whatsoever. The big changes I wanted I’ll have to wait for though: playlists on the Music app; the way the E-Reader app ‘fades’ the text to a light grey making text far less readable; and the way the Notes app won’t scroll text up at the bottom of the page when using an external bluetooth keyboard making it largely unusable for any serious writing.
Having said all this though I love my new phone (had it three weeks now). Thankyou Mudita for the support of this great device. Love the (Offline+) ‘kill switch’.

Yes, this is something that users have reported that they need in a device. Unfortunately, our team was not able to fit everything in, all at once. I will ask the team what the timeline on this feature is.

The update went fine, the keyboard is definitely more responsive, more accurate and faster than before.
The look of the lock screen is a little weird, but in a good way. I like it.
I understand that some people may have their specific issues. We all use the phone in different ways and have different needs.
Installing @gezimos InkOS launcher and a couple of sideloaded apps solved most of the shortcomings.
After selling my old phone, the Mudita is my only phone. So I rely not only on Mudita developers but also on our community here.

Hi @urszula I updated and it looks great, but I would prefer to have kept the logo on the lock screen How can I bring that back?

@dominick Unfortunately no, I think the since so many people were voicing their opinions about not wanting branding, our team removed this altogether. However, in a future update there will be options for customization.

I’m a bit hesitant to update my phone due to the reported issues with the SMS app. Is it a bug for all users of the new version or just some? @peacefulshadows, @damian1, @urszula, for example, have you noticed the problem with the SMS app?

@urszula is there any chance you can explain what this “messages” notification represents, other than SMS? I’ve never seen it before on my phone but it seems like it might be useful.
