Audio on kompakt

Awaiting my kompakt OS . One of things I want is great sound and mic. I want to hear nuance on my calls, and my voice to be clear. A lot of the colourful las vegas smartphones seem to have lost the phone part of their function. Anyone got their kompakt in Australia yet?

@internationalbag Hi. Welcome to the Mudita Forum Community! We are glad you’re here! We haven’t shipped out the Globla Optimized version yet. However, I can tell you I’ve been testing Mudita Kompakt for over a month & I am a HUGE audiobook fan & I listen to them all the time on my Mudita Kompakt. I will make a video for the Forum, so you guys can listen for yourself.

Oh okay so the only people that have got the phone so far are reviewers? No actual backers have gotten the phone yet?

Yes. Free units for reviews.

@minimalist4life Yes, those are Testers & Reviewers to make sure it works everywhere like it’s supposed to.

@urszula hi! This might be a silly question but how do you play audiobooks on the Kompakt?

@seasidetrumpet I did sideload Audible, but to be honest, I did not like the way the app worked on Kompakt. It’s not optimized for eInk and it was just a frustrating experience. So now, I just download the Audible file to my computer & convert it to MP3s. I like mp3s because they are the most practical, when you have limited space.

I’ve been looking at possible options for this as I don’t like the way music apps tend to handle audiobooks.
Came across an android app called simple audiobook player, it looks like it was designed for an eink device with straightforward black buttons on white background and text only (unless you press to look at the cover)
I’d love to see something like this with Mudita’s UI/design style.

Thank you for sharing this. I now plan to keep listening to my Audible books on a SIM-less, deGoogled Pixel 6. – As many of us have said on this forum, we need not have everything on a single device.

@seasidetrumpet we have a whole thread about it on the Forum. There are different converters.

When you go to your Audible library, you’ll see a download button:

You, then, convert the file you downloaded, using an audio file converter & you’re all set.

You can, then, upload your mp3 files to Mudita Kompakt.

@urszula how have you got on with the audiobook app? I really like it and it’s simplicity. Just a shame the buttons are so oversized :joy:

@aled I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. Mudita Kompakt & I have been very busy, on a Roman Holiday

I plan on sideloading it this week.
