Hello, when I try to install the apk files via the Mudita Center 4.0, I get an error saying “installation process was interrupted.” I’ve tried with apks pulled off of my old phone, and files that I downloaded from reliable sources online. Whatsapp was one of the apps I tried, and despite deleting the file from the apk installer section (since it wasn’t installed), the app icon appears on my phone and I keep getting a popup saying that the app isn’t working…. So I can’t open it or delete it. Please advise, thank you!
I also get this “interrupted” error when installing via mudita center, but then it has always worked on the 2nd try. Your issue may be different than mine, though.
Deleting the APK file in mudita center will not uninstall from your phone, so that’s why the icon is still there. It sounds like it installed incorrectly and will need to be uninstalled via launcher or standalone uninstaller app, then tried again.
Ok thank you! I did read that apps cannot be deleted but was confused since I thought it wasn’t installed.
Do you happen to have a rec for a launcher or uninstaller app? If not, I think I saw someone write out how to do that process so I will search for that!
Hi! The Kompakt doesn’t yet have a built-in feature to fullly remove sideloaded apps, but it is still possible to do it without resorting to a factory reset.
Here is a link to another forum thread where this topic was discussed more specifically.
I hope that helps!
I use Katapult, closest launcher to stock look with extra features, like uninstalling
Thanks so much, I’ll give it a try!
Thanks! I did know you can’t delete them but I thought it wasn’t installed in the first place. Haven’t been successful at installing any apps via the Mudita Center. I will try a few more things though.
I’d like to keep this thread active, as the problem seems to be getting worse for me. When I originally responded to OP above, installing always worked after 2 tries. It just took me 15 tries of pressing “install” and receiving the “interrupted” error in mudita center before successfully installing KompaktCalendar. Almost seems random when it works. I wonder if mudita center is fighting another windows process for access to the disk, or something. I’ll try running MC as administrator and some other tricks next time.
Interestingly, the progress bar jumps to 90% if it’s going to fail, but jumps to 81% if it’s going to succeed.
@adizzy are you using Mac or PC to do this?
PC, windows 11
@adizzy What MuditaOS K version do you currently have on your Kompakt?
1.4.0, which updater says is current. Thanks!
@adizzy Let me ask our team what could be happening? I’m wondering if it could be the cable.
