I have noticed a bug where wireless charging can be intermittent. I have found that attaching phone to charger while the screen is on helps reduce the potential for bug to appear. I am currently running 1.2.0 so I’m not sure if this is fixed in 1.4.0
This is with an Belkin brand charger in combination with my nakedcellphone MagSafe case. I will have to test if standard wireless charging causes the same bug.
@ryanness I’m not sure how much range that charger has, but the Nakedcellphone magsafe magnets are not placed in the place where the actual wireless charging coil is located in the Kompakt. It’s located more on the lower half.
Plus the wireless charger doesn’t work well even with the Mudita case and I read somewhere that they recommend removing it when charging your phone with a wireless charger.
Edit:
I’ve been charging MK wirelessly about a dozen times wirelessly and once or twice I had to retry putting the phone on the charger, no other issues.
When you opened up the Kompakt, did it look like there was enough space to add some sort of adhesive MagSafe magnetic ring inside the back plate?
I didn’t open it, the photo is from FCC certification documentation.
Though if you push your finger in the area you can see it doesn’t budge, so it’s tightly packed. So I think there’s no space for magnets there.
Ah, gotcha! And darn. ![]()
I have a Samsung wireless charger, not sure the exact model, but it’s one that stands up at a slight angle. Due to the location of the wireless charging coil in the Kompakt, I have to place my Kompakt upside-down on the charger in order for it to work. I think it’s all about finding the exact right positioning when trying to charge the Kompakt wirelessly. It can be a bit of a guess-and-check process. But once I found out my device charges upside-down, it charges pretty reliably. I haven’t had any issues with intermittent charging.
