Hi there, I recently got the Mudita Kompakt about two months ago and the only thing keeping me from likin git right now is the lack of a proper navigation app… This is seriously ruining my life so far, I am getting lost everywhere I go because the GPS app is terrible, and I even now that I am trying to use Firefox to go on Google maps and have a proper itinerary with transit information, the phone is most of the time unable to update my real-time location to create a new itinerary.
Please someone tell me that they found a solution for this because this can’t go on! I was on a solo weekend trip last week, and the phone kept me from going to many spontaneous outings because I knew I would get lost once again and could not afford to do so.
I don’t know if Waze is a good option for navigating by foot… When I have the MK it wasn’t working for me and I only really needed it for on foot navigation! I switched to the HiBreak Pro (e-ink phone) and I use google maps now to help navigate around the city
@berbyberb Huh…I’ve used the GPS to help navigate while on hikes (downloaded state map on the built-in Maps app had the trail) and I’ve used it in big cities such as St. Louis and Indianapolis to navigate walking downtown.
Sounds like you’re needing transit info, though? You may want to try HERE (like @kirkmahoneyphd said). I have experience using it on another phone (but not for transit) and it worked fairly well with traffic updates and all. HERE can take about 6 months to a year to update maps from new construction and you probably won’t see temporary road closures (like you would from Google or Waze). Not sure how those issues would translate to transit changes (although they do seem to have transit on the app).
I am indeed still working on this. My new job has just about taken over my life and soccer season is in full swing so coaching has taken over my evenings as well. I’m really hoping to have this out soon though.
