What happens if you uninstall the non-default app, e.g. heliboard? Doesn’t it switch back to the stock one?

Yes it does. But if there is a default apps section, there should be no need to uninstall it.

If I remember the explanation correctly the default app shortcut was for people who complained that the built in SMS app was crashing after they installed a new messenger app and set it as default.
Be careful what you wish for.

I installed the update yesterday evening. What I can say so far: Everything is working as it should. The alarm clock rang punctually at 7 a.m. this morning. It’s finally working! The music app now finally has the long-awaited folder function, so I was able to uninstall Gramophone. The only drawback is that the tracks are sorted alphabetically and apparently the ID3 tags are not read. This means that the album tracks are mixed up and not sorted by number. You could perhaps get around this by putting the numbers in front of the track names in the file names. Still a bit awkward, though.
Otherwise, I’m very satisfied so far. Let’s see how it performs in everyday use over the next few days.
It would be really nice if the keyboard were redesigned. I already mentioned the delayed feedback when typing; the vibration comes later, after you’ve already pressed the next letter. And the correction suggestions are still a joke, especially with longer words, the dots in between, so you have to guess which word it’s supposed to be.
Frequently used words are not included in the dictionary, and there is no option to add them manually.
Otherwise, keep up the good work. If the KompaKt had been in this condition when it was delivered, it would have prevented some customer dissatisfaction.

The offline mode issue has not been fixed at least not in my Global update. Still the WIFI will not turn back on (if it was on) before going in Offline+.
And yes unlocking the phone first, to turn off Offline+ mode doesn’t make a difference.
As for the camera bug that was related to the switch I can’t test it as I have disabled the camera app.

The answer is simple…Mudita Kompakt was never meant to be a full-Android phone. We never marketed it this way, we never said it would be a phone with full android settings. I’m sorry if that’s frustrating & it’s not what you expected from the device when you bought it, however, the goal of the device was to be a minimalist E ink phone.

I have a Global version & my wifi automatically reconnects after I turn off the OFFLINE+ mode. In fact, the WiFi reconnects faster than the network. I will ask the team about this.

This issue has appeared in 1.2.0 or 1.3.0 in my case and it has been discussed a lot in the forums together with the camera access also remaining disabled by the offline switch.

Super happy with the update, phone seems a bit more responsive, music player is great now, and the responsivenes on the keybord when sending SMS/MMS is really good.

Yes, but a minimalistic phone is typically defined by its OS, lack of browser, lack of app store, etc, not a lack of basic system settings such as setting default apps. I understand some settings have to be missing to prevent things like downloading a browser without sideloading from a computer but this is too far

Totally agree. I only have very few options in the default apps section, but a lot of them are missing, such as default music player, default media player, default gps fake location app, default email client, default calendar, and default keyboard. @urszula Please fix this SOONEST in 1.4.1, it can’t be that difficult.
