USB-C port major flaw

Upon having issues with charging and computer connection, I did some research and found a major concern with the Kompakt. That is the side walls of the USB-C port are plastic most of the way down. This makes it prone to swelling or cracking when charging, which I believe to be the larger cause of my loose charging port. Not only that, but my computer now does not even recognize the Kompakt in order to transfer files or sideload apps. Any decent hardware with USB-C that I am familiar with has a metal shaft traveling all the way from the base of the port to the flush edge of the device. The omission of this technology is dumbfounding to me. This is a device RUINING flaw and one which I am astonished to find in a $400 piece of technology. I can now only use the supplied USB-C cable for charging and even then must get it to sit at the proper angle to maintain charging. I have tried cleaning the port with canned air and an q-tip to no avail. Any future iterations of the Kompakt need to fix this failure or they will continue to be borderline unusable after any wear occurs to the port.

I even had a Pixel 8 before where I had to keep the cable a certain way for it to charge or to wiggle the cable. I think that was a problem with the port itself. Pretty sure there was metal, not plastic. Either way, this should be addressed

@tcarlton98 I’ve asked the team about this & I’m waiting for a response.

@tcarlton98 So, our team confirmed that the USB connector has a fully metal housing. Mudita kompakt has plastic housing.

@urszula I think the issue then is that the USB connector isn’t long enough. Just inspecting the inside of the port, there is a distinct spot where the metal ends and the plastic case begins. Most modern devices I’ve seen have the usb connector come out fully flush with the edge of the device frame.

Thank you for your response

I have noticed that mine will not charge reliably or connect to my computer reliably. The usb-C port feels a little “loose” for lack of a better word, even though I have always been gentle with it. I have to keep pressure on the cord when I connect it to my computer, or the computer loses connection to the phone, which can be very frustrating when trying to transfer files to the phone.
