On October 29, 2024, we hit “launch” on the Mudita Kompakt Kickstarter campaign. Two years ago today! I still remember the excitement of sharing that moment with you here on the Forum. :yellow_heart:

Back then, we were asking you to believe in what Mudita Kompakt could become. Today, you’re sharing stories about the place it has in your lives, helping each other, building apps, and challenging us to make it better.

What started as a Kickstarter project has grown into a community with a movement behind it.

Along the way, minimalist phones have become part of a much bigger conversation. By 2025, @Jose_Briones was talking about the fact that 2025 was “the year of the dumbphone,” as more devices arrived and more people questioned how much attention they wanted to give their phones. It’s SO exciting to see an idea we care so deeply about reach more people.

And Mudita Kompakt continues to bring something special to that conversation: its E Ink display, thoughtful design, focus on privacy, and a community that keeps helping shape its future.

Now, we’re getting ready for our next big chapter.

With MuditaOS K 2.0 launching next month , “minimalism on YOUR terms” takes another step forward. More choices, more flexibility, and thoughtful features to help Kompakt fit into your life, the way you want it to. Because, as we’ve all discussed here on the FORUM, everyone’s version of “just enough” looks a little different.

To our original backers, longtime Forum regulars, developers, and everyone who has joined along the way, Mudita wants to say thank you. Your enthusiasm, patience, honest feedback, and belief in this project have brought us here.

Two years in, there’s so much to celebrate. And so much more to look forward to. :sparkles:

Well, I haven’t been around since the launch, but I truly believe this phone has great potential. It has brought positive changes to my life (and many people), giving me a different way of using my phone and helping me separate screen time from my personal life (family, leisure, and so on). You guys are a small team, indeed, but you’ve done an amazing job! The phone is becoming known worldwide, and some people even describe it as the best minimalist phone out there, which I would agree with! We’re seeing more and more reviews of it on social media, and I believe that after a couple more years of development, sideloading might no longer be necessary for most users, with perhaps a few exceptions for messaging apps like WhatsApp and Signal.Keep up the great work! You’re definitely heading in the right direction! :clap:
