Text Messages Failure
Over the past week I have had text messages issues with my Kompakt. I use T Mobile through Tello in the USA, yet I never had issues with their service so I think it is a phone issue.

Three scenarios happen.

  1. Message does not come through at all.

  2. Message comes through to phone much later than sent to me. I may be browsing my message folder and when I click on the SMS message folder icon, a message will come through that was sent hours earlier. When this happens, it does not show a time of the message just that that it was today.

  3. I get an audible notification and SMS notification displayed on the screen that there is a message yet there is no message visible in the thread. This happened yesterday in the middle of a conversation with a friend and I was forced to call him and ask for his reply. He has texted me two replies that didn’t come through yet the phone dinged twice, and showed two unread messages, yet no new messages in the thread.

Lastly, for the two SMS notification yesterday that never came through it is still displayed as missed messages on my Kompakt, yet again no message there. I have deleted the message thread, yet the display still shows two missed messages and no way to clear it off my screen.
If Mudita support could let me know if this is a known issue and how I can fix the problem without resetting my phone.

Also how to erase the missed SMS message icon from my screen.

Try using a sideloaded messaging app like Fossify messages. See if that resolves the issues.

I had to resort to using Fossify Messages. As soon as I did that a couple of messages that I had received an audible notification and the associated visual number on the native SMS app - yet no messages - appeared (again in Fossify Messaging app). I just backed up my device and was about to restore to factory when I saw a few posts in the forum indicating similar issues with the native SMS app. For now I can use the Fossify messaging app. However I’m unable to remove the native SMS app from the homescreen.

I was able to remove the phantom SMS notification by sideloading and installing Fossify Messages app as suggested by Jose. It was a group text that did not come through. Mudita Please fix the Mudita SMS App OS to correctly process group text!!!

What apps have you sideloaded to your Mudita Kompakt? This may help our team to diagnose the problem.

Sideload apps:
**Note all the apps were installed since June without issue with SMS.

  1. APK Pure – I only download APKs that are mirrored on Google play store are secondary downloaded from this sideloaded app.
  2. Duck Duck Go – rarely use only when I can’t get to a computer
  3. MP3 Cutter & ringtone maker – music ringtone. The alarm tone does not work on Mudita
  4. Musicolet – for better music player that organizes with album art
  5. Numberbarn – calling app
  6. Sirus XM (app that is used the most)
  7. Whats App
    • Fossify Messages. Installed today at advice of Jose Briones reply to my forum input. Once loaded this let through a former group text I never received and I was able to delete it. It also deleted the SMS notification that I had not ben able to erase previously.

The only side loaded app I use daily is the Sirus XM.

@oldymann28 Did you ever find a fix for missing texts? I also use Tello and have the same problem.
