Was hoping October, I guess November is technically autumn lol, but to me its winter here in Canada lol
I have another question regarding Google contacts - apart from the fact I was considering deleting my Google account but not just now ahah - : will it be possible to enable / disable several calendars (on the same account) ?
Thank you for the response, even if it is disappointing for my use case. Possibly something to consider for future hardware? Even just making it possible to configure as just a mute switch would be lovely. Fully offline I support, it’s just not something I can do yet.
I would totally encourage you to get it during our back-to-school sale. The launch of MuditaOS K 2.0 will be here before you know it. The time will give you a chance to get acclimated to the device.
OFFLINE+ cuts off power to the modem & all the peripherals, plus it takes you off the network. Normal SMS/text messages will not come through- even the alerts (the way we get them in POLAND)
Some countries use a FLASH SMS, which displays full-screen right away without any user action.
However, if your phone is offline (no cellular signal or in Airplane Mode), you will not receive the Flash SMS at that moment.
I will ask the team about this.
I understand, but if the sync doesn’t work well, it renders the phone kinda unusable for me and then I’m stuck with it… so it’s a concern. I definitely want to support Mudita here, I think this is a great product conceptually and am just trying to balance expectations with needs.
Well I pulled the trigger and bought it… this is very much a “I don’t need this” purchase, but I want to be able to have an opinion. If it ends up being a little too restrictive (no calendar sync, no contacts sync, and some other non-social-media side-loaded apps), it’s likely a good phone for seniors, so my parents are an option.
- I put and used the DAVx5 app on a Kompakt that I had last year to sync my household’s calendar and contacts hosted at a Nextcloud instance.
- I sold that Kompakt due to (other) missing features and have been running the DAVx5 app on another deGoogled cellphone since then.
- And, I plan to put and use the DAVx5 app on my next Kompakt, which is coming in a few days.
I closed my Google account a few years ago, but here is something promising that Brave AI says about DAVx5 and Google Calendar:
You may want to consider the DAVx5 approach to seeing Google Calendar on your Kompakt until Mudita launches MuditaOS K 2.0.
Please do not ever get rid of Offline+ as originally conceived and currently implemented in the Kompakt ![]()
I don’t think that it’s even possible to remove, because it physically disconnects at least the cellular modem, microphones, and camera.
Agreed. I was thinking of future products. Offline+ is golden.
Yeah! It truly is great.
@urszula - Hi Urszula -any word as to when 2.0 might be coming? I know it’s fall and that could well be another month. Any chance it comes sooner? Asking for a friend, I promise. ![]()
Indeed offline + was the deciding factor for me purchasing the Kompakt, along with the de googled os
They said November and they’re not getting rid of Offline+
Next month
We’re planning to launch it in November ![]()
Is there going to be some more material, a new teaser or a feature reel?
