Tap the three horizontal dots in the upper-right corner.
Tap [See participants] under More options.
See the name of that single individual on the Participants page.
Failure with Group Text Messages
Open SMS.
Tap a received message from someone to you + one or more other recipients.
Tap the three horizontal dots in the upper-right corner.
Tap [See participants] under More options.
If you see an alert dialog with the message “SMS App stopped working”, then tap the [Close app] pushbutton to return to the SMS app’s list of text messages on your Kompakt. If you do not see the alert dialog, then your Kompakt simply will return to the SMS app’s list of text messages. Either way, you will never see the Participants page.
Bug-Reproduction Notes
I have tested this multiple times and gotten the same success or failure result (according to the above two sets of steps) every time.
It does not matter whether the Kompakt was in Connected mode or Offline+ mode when the sender sent a message in either the Success scenario or the Failure scenario.
My Kompakt is on T-Mobile USA. I have never seen this Failure scenario with any of my earlier cellphones (Google Android or deGoogled AOSP-based).
Once you get your Kompakt (Soon, I hope!), if it is still on MuditaOS K 1.1.1, then you will be able to follow the steps in each scenario to see the problem (in the Failure scenario).
lol this has me concerned my friend, too many bad memories from the Pure, when I put my Sim in when it gets here it better make phone calls and make and receive texts…PLEASE tell me I will be able to do this Kirk
Yes, making and receiving calls and text messages is no problem.
The problem that I am reporting in this thread is that, at least with MuditaOS K 1.1.1, you cannot see the list of participants in a group text message to you.
Oh okay gotcha! Well I just got one text chain and we barely message so its all good!
How is the reception of the phone indoors? basements etc? Are you able to make calls ?
I don’t have a basement. Reception is good indoors on my Global version and using T-Mobile USA. The sideloaded LTE Discovery app continues to say today that my Kompakt is using LTE B12 (4G/LTE band 12).
Here is a screenshot that I took while outdoors of my LTE Discovery app. You can see that my Kompakt is on LTE B12 and that it can see 13 GPS satellites above it with a location accuracy of +/- 2 meters. I blurred the GPS coordinates in the screenshot.
Nice! I still think when I get my phone and I go to put the sim in I am going to be scared lol, you have to remember how many times I tried different sim cards for the Pure lol, some would let me call out, but not get calls in, some would allowed me to call in and out but not text lol, god I don’t miss that time, hard to believe that was three years ago, wow time flies
mine has been good even without wifi on, but i also turned on wifi calling as one of the first things i do as its better than getting reception through walls. i would expect reception in a basement to be more restricted like any phone. (wifi calling ↔ VoLTE handoff is seemless fyi)
My light phone has never had any issues taking calls in basements, it does depend on the provider sometimes, I know here in Canada rogers, and freedom don’t do well in basements
@minimalist4life We’ve worked so had that to make sure Mudita Kompakt does not have connection issues. I think you can rest assured. @kirkmahoneyphd is saying that he’s just not able to see all the participants in his group message. I have forwarded this info to our team.
@kirkmahoneyphd When I reported the bug to our team, the QA team lead expressed an appreciation for the elegant way the bug was presented from your end. She was IMPRESSED!
@urszula: Once a software developer, always a software developer! Plus, I once led a small design-validation team, so I know how I liked my team to create bug reports.
