Since I loaded my MK with music and podcasts about 3 months ago, I have not connected MK to my computer. Last week I went to open my music, and it showed nothing was there. I powered the device down and then turned it back on, but that did not help. Today I connected MK to my computer, and it showed the internal storage, but not the SD card. I took the SD card out and put it in my computer and it was recognized. @urszula Is there any update on why this happens?
I get the theory that it could be third party apps, which I do have downloaded, but the apps and SD card fine for several months before randomly not being able to be read on MK. I like Mudita and my Kompakt quite a bit, but these little things keep piling up as frustrations that weaken my experience.
Chiming in to say I am also having this issue with OS version 1.5. I havenât actually used my SD card for anything other than saving a few things via the Kompakt itself. I have not taken the card out of my phone since I got it outside of SIM swapping. So there seems to be an issue with the phone not recognizing the card after you take the SIM in/out. I will do what others have done, reformat it, but this doesnât seem to be an SD card issue, but rather a phone issue. Would be nice to see a resolution on this persistent issue at some point.
Editing to add that if I go to Storage in Settings, I can see that the phone recognizes there is and card installed, but it says it doesnât have anything stored on it â 0mb reported.
Size is 256gb and just maps and photos currently. When I popped it into my laptop I could see all of the files again. I reformatted the card and my Kompakt is seeing it again.
I was actually going to suggest that. One thing to keep in mind is that the SD card in Mudita Kompakt cannot be used as internal storage (Adaptable Storage). It only allows EXTERNAL (portable storage)
The choice between internal and external storage fundamentally changes how the card operates, what it can hold, and whether you can easily move it to another device. With internal (adaptable storage) the card is formatted to act as a seamless extension of your phoneâs built-in memory. So, if you had it formatted like this in another phone & then moved it to your Mudita Kompakt, it will not work.
Mudita Kompakt only supports external storage, This is the traditional way SD cards operate. The phone formats the card using a standard file system (like FAT32 or exFAT) that almost any device can read.
Ok thanks for letting me know⌠If I may offer a recommendation⌠The Mudita website does not state which kind of storage is available. Only that the Kompakt allows microSD storage up to 2tb. One of the draws of this phone is that it has a microSD card slot. Iâve never heard of a phone not allowing the storage of photos when using an SD card. I think others would value knowing that it is limited on what it can be used for.
Also Iâm using Open Camera and it does allow me to select the microSD to save my photos to.
Iâm not sure why all of this would be the reason for my phone to stop seeing the card though, which was my original issue. The card was always formatted for external use. And it was still viewable on my laptop, not corrupted.
