Lets say I used the calculator, them notes and then a side loaded app, Is it necessary to force stop each of these or does it really matter if there running in the back ground, and are they continuing to run? Thanks for the input.
I believe they are running in the background. I use the ink OS app to change my layout and I can close the apps manually through the app. I didn’t have access to closing them down on the original mudita layout. I didn’t have any issues with the apps running in the background when I used the original mudita layout. Is it affecting you?
Not that I know of, just thinking about battery life…Thanks for the reply
If it’s an app that has push notifications like Signal or Whatsapp, it will run in the background and it will affect battery life.
If it’s something like a Calculator, Notes or other Offline apps it won’t have any noticable impact.
Kompakt has an optimization Utility called Duraspeed which puts apps to sleep if they’re using too much power. You can access it in Developer options and see which apps are allowed to run on the background untouched and which are restricted.
Thanks for that information… No whatsapp or signal, Dont even know what they do.
They’re messaging/call/video chat apps.
is there no way to close an open app down using the stock mudita launcher, im considering installing signal on my new Kompakt , but Id like to close it when its not in use. do you know if its possible to set signal to check for messages only when prompted to like some email clients
Including Mudita’s own apps. You can install microG to greatly increase life with multiple notification calling apps. It’s frustrating the community regularly has to turn to fossify phone, fossify messages, and other apps because the roadmap doesn’t prioritize issues related to user experience.
You can close all apps via Manage Apps. Or are you referring to a simpler/quicker slide up kind of way?
Generally, right now it’d be about opening it and forcing shutdown each time you use it.
Settings > Manage Apps is one way (where you can open and shutdown from one place), alternatively use inkOS.
I was referring to a slide up / swipe of a open app to close it, Im coming from an iphone and later a Graphene os Pixel, where any open app can be closed. Ive only had my Kpmpakt a couple of days but Im not seeing anything like the 6 day battery life quoted, I put it on charge this evening, I have sideloaded signal, my preferred messaging app, and wondering if it may be eating up the battery.
what is the ink os app, I cannot find anything online about it?
InkOS is a text-based launcher for e-ink devices. See here:
