Is there any way to download or share recordings from the Mudita Recorder App? I use it quite often, and I just noticed that it is not possible to export recordings from my phone or access them in Mudita Center. I couldn’t find the recordings in the Files folder either.
If this is not possible, please recommend a lightweight FOSS app. Thanks.
One more question for the Mudita specialists. Why is the sound quality of the recordings so poor? I downloaded Fossify voice recorder to test it out, and the quality is incomparable. Why is that?
When I connect my MK with my Mac via the apps “OpenMTP” or “Android File Transfer” I find the recordings in the folder “Recordings”. Mudita Center doesn’t show this folder.
I also noticed that the app seems to be restricted to a noise-suppressing, voice-optimized codec. This renders the tool unusable for capturing a musical ideas, and even capturing natural-sounding speech. While this may save space, i feel that a recorder app should be relatively broadband and do little in the way of audio and data compression. If a user wishes to download a tool specifically for compressing voice recordings, they can easily find one. In contrast, the Apple iOS voice memo application takes this flat transparent approach (disregarding the very flattering multiband compression/limiting). It is a powerful, simple, elegant recording tool that is widely praised for this reason.
Admittedly I’m no expert, but based on my limited testing both iOS Voice Memos and the Kompakt’s Recorder use 64kbps AAC-LC compression for the audio with only a slight variation in sample rate - admittedly the mic on the Kompakt is not super high fidelity, but I don’t think the codec is the issue.

I’m interested to hear their reply! I did a brief deep dive on audio codecs when I was trying to figure out the best way to encode music for the Kompakt and the whole high fidelity audio world is fascinating
