None of what I said is attacking anyone. I’m giving feedback about how the interaction was handled. I don’t know why you are inserting yourself into this conversation.
Reread what I wrote.
And yet you’re making assumptions about me from “text messages in a forum”?
I ordered the LP3 a week after announcement since I really enjoyed the LP2 but could never make it my only device since I moved across the country and needed directions, I couldn’t get used to a standalone gps . When the delays with the lp3 due to tariffs became a reality I took a second look at the kompakt and ordered it hoping to get it before the lp3. At first i thought about trying them both out and then selling one of them but to be honest with my son approaching driving age I think I’ll keep them and give him one when he needs it, he loved the eink screen on the lp2 so maybe he prefers that, or maybe the lp3 for the faster maps.
Meanwhile the kompakt will be my smarter phone, I will use the notes app for my NAS at home and maybe a couple other things, the way I see it the light phone is in my pocket on regular days and the kompakt when I will have downtime to read or write a bit (I think about it as a freewrite with an external keyboard). The kompakt will probably also be on my desk as my instant on writing station at night and ereader, there are other apps that could make a lot of sense if I keep it as my only phone like the audio streaming app from my NAS, a podcast app, whatsapp and it would be nice to run the costco app to continue using as my membership card.
#1 during the 14 day return window. I’m waiting to hear confirmation that one particular feature is on the roadmap. If it is, I’ll not only keep the MK, but it’ll be my daily driver.
I’m 26 and have been using the LP2 for a few years now since early 20’s … I personally use my GPS in my car which is a bit outdated but I never wanted to rely on my LP2 for directions. Only for finding the address was helpful but other than that, it hardly works lol
1 - Been using the LP2 for years now and switching to the Kompakt as soon as it arrives! My LP2 is completely shattered with rough edges, constant ghosting but still works Let’s just say that I have used it to the end of it’s lifetime!
Aiming for #1 here for sure. I’d hate to manage multiple devices, and it would also defeat the purpose of getting Kompakt in the first place for me (which is to get rid of my smartphone). I specifically wanted a minimalist phone that can do hotspot, Signal, maps but not much more than that and MK ticked all the boxes.
That said I’m still in the transition process at the moment: making sure that I have access to all my accounts via web, moving data to my laptop, and generally figuring out alternatives or different ways to do things which I used to do with iPhone. But Kompakt is my default device since day 1, iPhone stays at home and I plan to switch it off (or pass to my wife as a work phone) soon.
I’m using the Kompakt as my Daily driver but i had to sideload quite a few things to make it work:
Einkbro to search general info about shops and trains etc…
Whatsapp and Telegram
Thunderbird (mainly to access train tickets)
A custom made music app for the Kompakt cause the stock one is unusable
I had to move some less important activites to my tablet that stays at home (Banking and authenticators) but it’s working pretty well for me, as I am wasting way less time on youtube now.
Using Kompakt as my primary device. Smartphone off in the car for any unforeseen situations (Revolut, or until I sideload also Signal/Whatsapp urgent comms).
So far so good. Only had to take a smartphone with me on a business trip to France since I wasn’t well prepared, needed Uber and needed Teams for internal communication on the spot.
I would have probably made my lp2 work if I hadn’t moved across the country to an unfamiliar place and need to drive so much to get anywhere. I haven’t been able to get used to a dedicated car GPS unit, but do have one, I also missed a camera and flashlight with the lp2, still remember going up in an attic with a contractor and realizing I needed a flashlight and he says just use your phone!

This whole exchange could have been a single message stating that Bluetooth is being worked on. I do not mind waiting for the Bluetooth bugs to be fixed in a reasonable timeframe.
I hope you will improve the way the community team communicates.
I absolutely understand your point. So:
Yes. Bluetooth will be work on.
Yes. We will also improve the way we communicate.
Thank You for all your comments! And looking for more
I have felt, and still feel, and believe the Kompakt is a phone for people who hate things like Airpods. This is a headphone jack kind of person phone, and I would really like it to be that. And I would hope Mudita is not pressured into making it just another smartphone, for people who are interested in using technology as much as possible, it’s a phone for people who are trying to use technology at least as possible. I would have loved if it simply didn’t have bluetooth at all. I am so thankful that there are companies like Mudita standing their ground and producing phones that are not for nerds.
Other people’s choices have no impact on you. There is nothing stopping you from using wired headphones.
The Kompakt listed Bluetooth on its specs. The time to make opinionated decisions about “phones not for nerds” is before you list the device for sale.
No one is pressuring Mudita to make a smartphone. Bluetooth is something they promised from the beginning, and customers are only asking for it to be functional.
