I believe the request in planned is only for dialing voicemail, while Kirk’s new posts include the additional enhancement requests, namely notifications.

@urszula, yes, please ask. Long-pressing [1] to access voicemail is NOT the same as getting a notification about new voicemail.

Might we get an update to MuditaOS K (now at 1.1.1) so that we can press [1] on the Kompakt to dial our carrier’s voicemail number?

Coincidentally, I asked this same question three years ago about the Pure. But, I never took possession of a Pure cellphone, so I do not know what happened with respect to the Pure.

@urszula, can Pure owners program the [1] key to dial the voicemail number? I ask because many of us with non-Pure cellphones are accustomed to pressing and holding [1] to auto-dial our voicemail number, and we never have to program it, apparently because the carriers, at least in the USA, program the auto-dial # for the [1] key to dial it for us. Also, the Pure keypad implies to those of us who have used the [1] key on our cellphones for 20+ years that it is for accessing voicemail: [image]

When I press [1] on the Kompakt today, the call ends almost immediately, and I see this:

In contrast, when I call my USA carrier’s voicemail telephone number, I am able to reach voicemail, and the word “Voicemail” – which is NOT in my contacts list – then appears at the top of the Phone app’s “Recents” tab:

That “Voicemail” item on the “Recents” tab is usable. But, once Mudita makes it possible to clear the “Recents” tab, it will disappear. Yes, I can create an entry in my contacts list for my carrier’s voicemail number, but dialing voicemail in this way will require finding that entry each time in the contacts list.

Being able to press [1] to reach voicemail would be the best way to do so.

@kirkmahoneyphd Since you mentioned PRESSING #1 for VM earlier in this thread- I will leave that in here & just add to the topic. I just confirmed with the team that the next update will have VM notification as well as the function to Long-press ‘1’ on the dial pad to instantly call voicemail. If the voicemail number is unassigned, you’ll see a clear notification
