Patience Influenced by Technology?

Recently reading some topics on this forum I was struck by how little patience some people seem to have. I found myself wondering how much technology has influenced lack of patience within some people.

Some of us may be used to getting answers / information immediately by looking it up online, some may be used to getting things ordered express and having new products in their hands quickly.

Slowing down and patience are very important to me in my life, they allow me to accept life as it flows to me, through me and around me.

Have you noticed your patience level has been influenced by technology?
Is there any technology which has positively influenced your patience?

As I write this my little furry companion is telling me it’s time to go outside and his patience is waning - nothing to do with technology and everything to do with a lace monitor lizard he wishes to make friends with… or possibly chase… Teehee! Gotta love nature!

I’ve noticed a growing expectation for quick responses to emails and messages, especially when it’s known that the message has been seen. The virtual world is fast, complex, and overloaded with information we can’t fully process. This impatience is a symptom of a more significant issue: a demanding world at all levels.

The relationship between technology and patience is complex. However, I think it’s not a stretch to say that the ‘instant gratification’ that technology provides, definitely has impacted our patience. Additionally, the constant use of technology, especially smartphones and social media, has significantly impacted the human attention span, according to several studies.
