ive set up my kompakt phone, downloaded the mudita centre app on mac. when i go to transfer files in the manage files section - there is only photos and e-books. so no way to put music on unless i sideload spotify??

That option is being added to Mudita Center in an update. Currently the way to get music onto Mudita Kompakt is by connecting your Kompakt to the computer vis a USB cable & uploading it to the Music Folder. However, I’m not familiar with Apple devices, so I don’t know if this method will work.
We have another user with a Mac, who found a work around as well:
