No voicemail notification on MK?

Too long for me to wait. Switched my eSIM over to another phone tonight. Thanks for looking that up @kirkmahoneyphd. Time to put the Kompackt into storage.

Thanks for clarifying. Yes, I always assume that when a company references any quarter to delivery anything, it’ll be at the 11th hour.

For now, I’m really holding myself back switching my sim back to my smart phone. The MK just won’t stfu. The mystery ding dong sounds are driving me batty. I find myself turning the volume off completely, which means I miss SMS/Signal messages.

New Kompakt user here. Given this thread and others like it, I was fully shook when I received a new voicemail notification today. My carrier is a T-Mobile MVNO (US Mobile), and I’m running KompaktX which handles notifications. Clicking the notification from the KompaktX notification tray opens the dialer and calls my voicemail number. This is great. Does this not work for others?

I have never understood the fixation of voicemail notifications.
The Kompakt tells you when you have a missed call, and you dial your carriers number to check for any messages and listen / respond accordingly. I have been doing this since I’ve owned a mobile phone. I really don’t see it as an issue

Because it eliminates unnecessary calls to check for non-existent messages.

I am with you. I mean, it is nice to have and I am looking forward to the release BUT…I just check my voicemails in the evening. It is nice not to feel ‘rushed.’ I get the voicemails. I can also see who tried to call. If I see my father called, I will check voice right away - but he is the exception.

At first, I was more annoyed. Over time, I’m 100% calm. Just to say, nice to have but once you realize it is not a must have, life is pretty good.

Exactly my point, if you have a call from a key person in your life, you check for a message, you have the number in your contacts, it takes maybe 5 seconds. if you get more than one call from an unknown number you check for a message. It really is that simple. Some people will never shake the smartphone mindset

Using text message as a notifier sounds like a good solution . How did you set that up? It may help those who are unhappy with the way the Kompakt works at present

I will admit, when I was trying to figure out LP3 v Kompakt during the early days, circa April 25, I found lack of notification off putting and for a while that made me tilt 3. It wasn’t until after the summer of 2025 that I found myself always reaching for the Kompakt and the “stress” brought on by lack of notification went away.

Now I only use the Kompakt and got rid of my iOS device. Life is much calmer.

One of the things that I’ve noticed, after moderating the forum all these years, is that we all have different habits when it comes to phone use.
The GREAT thing is that VM notifications are coming in the next update
