Music player song order

Hi there,

I just received my Kompakt a few days ago and I really like it so far. I have a few small gripes but overall I am very happy with the phone. Putting music on the sd card is a bit annoying on mac though because the phone is not recognized as disk and there is no (free) working software to add music. I have to take out the sd card and do everything manually since the Mudita Center app throws everything in one folder it seems and is too slow for music transfer for my taste. Anyway, the one thing that reaaally bothers me is the alphabetical order of songs in the music player.. Is there a workaround or setting that I am missing to have the song order from the metadata? Would love to know if so! Thanks

The inability of the Kompakt to work with Mac frustrates me, too.

The best workaround I found is to sideload PlainApp https://plainapp.app/. If you connect the Kompakt and the Mac to the same Wifi network and then access the phone through the browser on your Mac, you can easily browse the microSD card and put music in folders. The stock music player supports playing by folder, not yet by artist/album.

@Blackzappa what software version are you on right- in Mudita Kompakt? I know there are more improvements planned for the Music Player in future updates.

I am on the latest software, 1.4.0. Great news about the updates! I actually love the music player and its simplicity, even the file browser, it’s just I would just like to have the option of having the songs in the order of the metadata numbers

@Blackzappa You can also try CalmMusic- which is a Music player that was created by one of our community members @davidray

My solution in the meantime has been to create playlists of all the albums in the correct album order. A bit time consuming, but it works as a placeholder until the music player is updated. I hope this is a priority and occurs in one of the next updates.
