Mudita Pure: New production schedule, and unfortunately - further delay

I had a fairphone for a few years. Fairphone is doing a great job about this. You should take a look.

Hello,
Is there some updates regarding production ?
Some good news would be very wellcomeā€¦
One month ago, we still believed the shipping would have been now.

Thereā€™s a lot of topics about the os, the desktop appā€¦
What about the device ? Where are you at ?

Thank you.

Rare earth metals are indeed a big impact on the environment.

I donā€™t know about ethical fossil fuels (given we are staring down the barrel of several degrees of global warming) but I wonder if ethical biological computers are possible.

We can stimulate skin cells to become stem cells and stem cells to become specialised and perhaps neural matter. No rare earth metals required, and nature is incredibly effective at making things work. The best solar panels are leaves. The best computers are brains.
Hopefully we can do something like that without crossing any ethical lines (eg is an artificial brain capable of feeling?). If so, there is a massive ethical consideration before proceeding.

Hi, any updates on this. It would be great to know what the current timeline is. Of particularly interest to me is

  • Have the dev team committed to an implementation of predictive text?
  • Is there room for development of a signal application (as has now been done with Punkt, Ubuntu Touch, etc)
  • Would Mudita ship the device early if production caught up as a result of using some more experienced firms, even if outside of europe.
  • Do you have a battery life estimate.

Thank you
