Mudita Kompakt refuses to do a factory reset

I tried to do a factory reset on my Mudita, but when it’s done I can open the phone with my fingerprint and passcode and all my apps are still there with all my info, wifi is working. So it didn’t do the reset… It just won’t go back to a fresh start. Deleting any apps one by one is also not possible, it refuses to delete anything when I try to delete sideloaded apps (with Aurora Store). And Whatsapp keeps crashing every day. Sometimes it’ll work for a few hours, then it crashes. I uploaded an epub last week, it was there for a few days, then it dissapeared into thin air. How? It wasn’t me. Something isn’t right. Someone else having these same issues?
I really like the phone and the intentions of the brand, but the phone is just not working for me at this point. I hope the July update will fix a lot of problems, but if not I have to send it back. But I don’t want to…

@rwten Thanks for reaching out. Let me ask my team about this. This is a very interesting case.

Thanks. I’ve put it away in it’s box for now and went back to my old ‘normal’ smartphone. I really hope there’s a solution.

@rwten Our team has suggested that you do a HARD factory reset.

  • Power off the phone
  • Hold Power and + Volume Up buttons together until you see the “Select Boot Mode” screen

If this doesn’t work, our customer service can offer other options.

  • Use the Volume Up button to scroll to “Recovery Mode”, then click the Volume Down button to press “OK”
  • Once the screen shows a broken robot icon, press and hold the Power button, then click the Volume Up button once to open the Recovery menu
  • Use the Volume Up/Down buttons to scroll to “Wipe data/factory reset” and click the Power button to confirm
  • Wait for the factory reset to complete
