Mudita Kompact – Wifi and Bluetooth Specs

Why is Mudita being so coy (or vague) about the exact technical specifications for the wifi and bluetooth capabilities? The wifi is simply listed as “wifi” instead of “wifi 5 a/b/c/n/ac” or “wifi 6” and bluetooth is listed as “bluetooth 5.x” rather than “5.1” or “5.2” etc.

Is this simply poor marketing? Is definitive information available for this anywhere?

Thank you.

Any update on this?

It’s been 5 days now and still no answer to this. It’s a simple question. Is it because Mudita doesn’t yet know what specs their suppliers will supply?

@disgruntlediphoneuse Sorry for the delay. Our team just got back to me about this.
Bluetooth 5.0
Wifi 5 (Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band)

Those specs should go in the sales pages for the North American and Global versions! Many of us love seeing those details.

Thank you. Wow. Those are quite dated standards now.

  • Bluetooth 5.0 was released in December 2016.
  • Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) was finalized in 2013.

Anyway, will the product page and website be updated with those technical spec details?

Bluetooth 6.0 was introduced September 2024. So even if the technical team wanted to include that it was way to late for a finalized product.

Yes, but what bluetooth about v5.1 up to v5.4? And Wifi 6.0 (from 2019 onwards)?

@disgruntlediphoneuse I’ve asked our team to specify, so I will return when I have the answer

Hi! My first comment here. I might sound old and grumpy, but IMHO even Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) would be fair enough. Let’s remember, we have Wi-Fi 7 getting rolled out, and manufacturers began promoting rise of Wi-Fi 8. This is becoming a rollercoaster.

Cheers!

@buiosu Welcome to the Mudita Community! We’re glad you’re here. Thanks for your feedback. I’m with you on this. Companies are constantly coming out with new versions which are just slightly better making us think that we constantly need to upgrade, when what we currently have works just fine.

to be fair, mudita didn’t start out focusing on fast wifi and bluetooth, their goal was low EMFs, NO wifi, and to my knowledge bluetooth when tethered. The purpose of this phone is to get away from smart phone distracting capabilities.

@calebsmum Thanks for chiming in. And you’re right, Mudita Kompakt is not about having the fastest, newest, brightest, most innovative technology around  It’s about being simple and functional.
