@shak Let me verify this with the team. I remember we discussed this & it was one of the bugs they were aware of & working on.
It’s been a while . Any update about this ? I would like to use my mudita if this bug is fixed
@shak Thanks for your patience while I looked into this.
I found out for our team that, unfortunately, this bug has not been fixed. It turns out that call waiting is not supported on Mudita Pure. I’m gonna try to get more info for you if there are any work-around options planned.
Sorry for the inconvenience & the long wait.
Isn’t this a software issue ? I mean call waiting is certainly not related to hardware
@shak I looking for some more info on this topic. I’ll return with more information shortly.
@shak I got more info on this topic.
Basically, the issue is that different networks have different ways of treating what you would call “call-waiting” so it’s extremely time consuming to account for every scenario.
For example, my network provider, here in Poland, functions this way:
When I’m on a call & someone is trying to reach me- the call will not go through and the call I’m on will not be interrupted. So, basically, I’m carrying on a conversation not knowing someone is trying to reach me.
Once I’m finished with the call, the number which tried to reach me will not be in my missed calls. I will get a text message with the info that while I I was on the phone, number XXX tried to reach me X times- plus the date & time of contact will be listed.
Meanwhile, the person who tried to reach me will also get a text message that my line is free.
On the other hand- back in the US, there were no text messages. While I was on the phone, I got an in-call notification letting me know that someone was trying to reach me. I then got the option to switch to the new call.
The issue is much bigger than just the software in Mudita Pure. It also matters how each network provider treats calls that come in while the user is engaged in a phone conversation.
this issue should be high priority
Apparently is a new feature this one and not a bug. I have lost numerous phone calls this way and I have to explain the person that my phone doesn’t show the missed call and no call waiting is available
@shak If you were not using Mudita Pure, how would you service provider handle call-waiting. Do you get notified when the call is coming through or do you get a text message AFTER the phone call was attempted, but did not go through.
I have BOTH an Android phone & Mudita Pure with the same service provider & in BOTH cases I get text messages letting me know that someone tied to reach me when I was on the phone. The phone call DOES not record this as a missed call.
I don’t understand what do you mean by not using ? I was using mudita pure I was on a call , I heard a beep sound checked to see the name of the caller and of course nothing to display there. After 1 second the line goes down and no message no nothing . This issue has been reported by other users as well which I am also pretty sure they were using their mudita pure as well. Disabling call waiting via my provider doesn’t send a text message because the line is occupied when calling . But if it did send the SMS there will be no way of reading it right ? Since it doesn’t support non latin caheacters. Just for reference I have no such issue with any other phone , and I have quite a few
@shak I was curious how OTHER phone, other than Mudita Pure have handled called waiting with your service provider.
The reason I’m asking this is that MY service provider- no matter which phone I’m using will never allow me to pick up calls on call waiting and the incoming call is NEVER recorded as a Missed Call. All I get is a text message.
Yes I am sorry I misunderstood . Yeah with other phones it works as intended. The issue with pure is that when you have call waiting enabled and someone else calls while I am on the line , I get a beep beep sound 2 times and then the current phone call cuta off. if I disable call waiting via my provider the other person will get a call busy tone and no sms is received
Apparently, pure is not designed for multiple calls. But shouldn`t default behavior be caller signal busy, record missed call, make it visible to owner?
Trying to anyhow display/take second call is odd for dumb phone.
So how should we arrange call waiting with provider, as NO so Pure work?
@anon11367638 Call Waiting is a network provider service- the Mudita Pure software has nothing to do with it.
My provider does this:
If I’m on a call & someone tries to call me- the caller will get message that I’m unavailable & they will be notified when I become available.
Then, when I finish my call, I get a text message saying “XXXXX number tried to reach you when you were on another call”
At the same time, the caller receives a message saying, “XXXXX numer is now available”
That is standard for operators here too, so no worry for me. Android has call wait in options I believe.
Thank you for clarification, for me subject is closed, and Pure bug irrelevant.
