I received my Kompakt yesterday and am very happy with the device so far, but I do have one request
At the zendo where I learned to meditate, we stuck to sessions of 20 or 25 minutes. The app supports 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 min etc.
Would it be possible to allow for custom durations in the future?
@mugwump We’re glad you’re enjoying your Mudita Kompakt! I will pass your suggestion to our team.
Hi, this meditation app is great (very simple, nice sounds - this is what is mostly needed).
@urszula - my requests for one of the future updates:
- more flexible timer - you sholuld be able to set timer in minutes AND/OR seconds (custom durations like @mugwump asked)
- more flexible alarm intervals (also in minutes and/or seconds) - e.g. you can use timer with alarm interval every 5-6 seconds for box breathing - excercise that you promote in your wrist watch Mudita Moment - it would be great if you can close your eyes and prctise it with your meditation app
@michalplaza You’re not the only one who would like to make some updates to the Meditation Timer
Thanks for the feedback. I’m passing it on to the team.
Adding my name onto this thread, and noticing that this was brought up more than 3 months ago…
The meditation timer was one of the biggest draws for me over the Light Phone 3, but not being able to set it for 20 or 25 minutes has made it non-functional for me and keeps me tied to my iPhone.
I’m looking forward to this update. Even five minute increments would be welcomed!
Hi @urszula. Is there any update to this issue? I do like the meditation app, but I would also be happy if it was possible to adjust the time more.
@Lavurso not yet. I haven’t heard back from the team about this yet. I will follow up.
I felt also very limited with the timer options. If you are looking for a very simple timer that optimized for the mudiate eink screen, you can try the one I developed with some help of chatGPT: GitHub - tilmanbergt/einkMeditation: Meditation App.
It allows setting overall time on a minute basis (but not seconds currently, and no intervall times currently).
@tilmanbergt I’ll check it out. Thanks!
@tilmanbergt I tried it and I like it! Everything that I need. Looking forward to be able to save settings. Do you think it would be posdible to hide the bar at the top that display the clock?
Again thanks!
Thank you for the feedback. That is an excellent suggestion. I don’t know if that is possible, but I will investigate it and try to make a release with that (probably it will be a switch in settings). Would you see it as being hidden throughout the app, or just during meditation sessions?
At least during meditation sessions. That’s when it might distract me. ![]()
Hey @Lavurso, I’ve uploaded a new version, 1.0.4, to GitHub that always hides the status bar during meditation. Seems to work fine. Let me know if you have any issues with it.
@tilmanbergt Tried it - works perfectly! Thanks!
