Lock Screen Wallpaper or Basic Info

Hello,

will there be a way to put some basic wallpaper on the lock screen, like it is the case with Amazon Kindle for instance?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @smuch ,

I have tried the software mentioned here, but it is rich with lots of options, but an overkill for just a simple lock screen wallpaper, possibly with some notifications on top, but nothing more. It would be nice if it became a standard feature in new MuditaOS, especially considering that the lock screen wallpaper without notifications should be simple to achieve in OS.

Thanks,
Dragan

  1. The software mentioned there, doesn’t support “lockscreen” notifications or lockscreen wallpapers.
  2. We need to clarify the technical terms, what you’re calling lockscreen is not a lockscreen by android definitions, that’s an AOD (always on display). The lockscreen is the screen that says "touch the power button to unlock.
  3. For my other launcher, Katapult i’m testing some workarounds to bring
  • notifications in the lockscreen

  • screensaver workaround to mimic the always on display.

Yes, that’s a good point - it might not really lockscreen by Android definitions, but more something like “Kindle”-style lockscreen, that stays “always-on”, simply taking advantage of the E-ink display.

I tried opening the page that you sent, but it might be within the maintenance window?

Anyway, I guess that kindle-like lock screen still sounds like something that many users would like…

Sorry mistyped, katapult.gez.im

Just to clarify, the features I showed in the video are not yet available to the launcher

Like others have mentioned, lockscreen customization is on the roadmap, but the team has not confirmed about wallpapers. I’m still waiting for a response from the team.

Thanks @urszula ,

I guess it would not be that complicated, since the tiny lock on the screen when locked (or Mudita logo in the previous software versions) could also be considered as a special kind of the lock screen  (Kindle-style).

Anyway, let’s wait for the next version, hopefully also bringing some security updates.

Dear @Sylvia99 of course, yes, I still have it. I might set it outside on a bench under a clear sky, but not in full sun, and wait for it to begin working perfectly.
